  i had a brother visit me yesterday to invite me to the memorial.

  as usual, despite the unspoken passive aggressiveness, i was polite,.

  anyway, this year, he started his presentation by saying: "the governing body (gb) wants us to read this bible passage to you!

  i used to dread seeing a witness coming toward me.

  now i am quite comfortable and hope that they may say something to me..... does your blood pressure rise when you see a jw coming toward you?

  A baffling physics question

  for several weeks i've been treating myself to a hot chocolate milk (well, soymilk) before bedtime.

  some 16 oz soymilk which i heat on high in our microwave oven.

  this is just enough time where the liquid begins to bubble along the top edge.. i then take it out of the microwave and place it on my kitchen gram scale, stir it good enough to redistribute the heat, then reset the scale to zero grams.. next, i squeeze in the hershey's sytup, "special dark mildly sweet chocolate" (fat free) into the warmed soymilk till the scale reads some 30 grams.

  Something to think about:

  We all spend a great deal of time contemplating the motivations and mental state of the leadership of this religion. Many of us really try to understand why they do what they do.

  But remember, they don't return the favor. The have only a one-size-fits-all label for anyone that dares ask such questions about them: Apostate.

  Enlightened discourse and debate frequently involves attacking what we believe to be flaws in the ARGUMENT, but it need not, and indeed should not, involve personal attacks on the PERSON.

  The former is healthy and can lead to a better and deeper, more balanced understanding of the issues.

  The latter always descends in to mindless tribalism.

  Jambon, it's what people do.

  Has it occurred to you that your post criticising M&C is essentially in the same vein as what you don't like them doing to LE/JC?

  Taking the moral high road is difficult and most definitely NOT something we were taught or encouraged to do when we were in the cult.

  Old habits die hard. Take it from one who knows all too well.

  Please notice that I already have my beard on and it is going (and growing) strong.

  God, the "Creator of the Universe," apparently has nothing better to do than care about the tightness of your clothes , the cut of your hair and the kind of socks you wear.

  alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

  if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.
