  Have you ever gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?

  just wondering if anyone has gone back to a meeting out of curiosity?

  (perhaps to an area far from your old khall where you know no one).

  with all the changes from 2012 onwards (videos, tv screens, new meeting format, new songs etc) it would be an odd experience to be in attendance!.

  Ugh! Why?

  I might go for a funeral, but no one I used to know ever tells me when my still-in family members die; so I don’t know and can’t go.

  I’d never go out of “curiosity.” I already know way more about this fucking cult than I care to.

  i attended my first jw meeting recently.

  first, i would like to say what i agree with about the jehovah's witnesses beliefs and practices.. 1. they don't consider israeli's as "god's chosen people" and they don't worship israel as some holy land filled with righteous jews (although there are some there) as most so-called "christians" (christian zionists) erroneously believe they are instead of the "hypocrites" and "vipers" that it is actually filled with.. 2. they don't celebrate "holidays" like easter and christmas which are, in fact, remnants of earlier pagan practices.. 3. they don't put nation before god and christ.

  they don't believe in war or going to war because of some crazy government/cia secret agenda.

  As is so often the case, JWs playing at things they know little about. Amateur, unqualified "educators" pretending to be teachers is a disaster for the children.

  if you had 2 minutes with an old witness friend or with a family member to convince them the 'truth' is a lie and the gb isnt being directed by god what would you say to get their attention that might make them question their beliefs?.

  Seriously, if I only had two minutes with a "still-in" family member or JW friend, THE LAST THING I WOULD WANT TO TALK ABOUT WOULD BE THEIR RELIGION!

  I would simply want to know how they are and to let them know I miss them and they are always welcome to keep in touch. Their response to that (which so far has universally and without exception to be to avoid me) would determine if and how I would ever discuss religion with them.
