But the main point here is personal choice, autonomy and locus of control.
The GB misfits have more than a century long history of claiming to be something they clearly are not, promising things they can't deliver and ridiculing those that choose to live their own lives and ignore the the misguided "advice" of ignorant free-loaders like Lösch.

John Davis, no one here is saying EVERYONE should go to college.
What we are saying is that it is wrong for the WT leadership to say that NO ONE should go, misusing their religious authority to control and manipulate people, adversely affecting the lives of all of their members: needlessly limiting choices for those that listen to them and ridiculing and socially stigmatizing those that don't.

hey guys.

a friend online asked me about my recovery and how i managed to recover relatively easily from watchtower indoctrination.

although i think a major part of it is acquainting oneself with information about the watchtower and it's history, a lot of it (for me at least) was an inner game.

had the misfortune of stopping by the "regional" convention yesterday.

i promised my daughter i would come to sunday afternoon so she wouldnt have to ride home with her mother.... holy crap it was weird!

im sure all of this has been covered on the forum but to actually see it.... just wow.

its not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.

it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.

this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .

Those are interesting articles you posted. As an introvert myself, I would have preferred you quoted a few key points, commented on them and then gave us the link so we could read the complete articles if we wanted.
I'd rather read YOUR thoughts than someone else's cut and pasted wholesale.
What can be frustrating is that people often think I'm an extrovert because I am not shy and can be very outspoken. What they don't know is the intense inner dialogue that's always going on, all the things I think but never ever say. What they don't understand is my impatience with pointless small-talk and the frequent desire to be alone.
I can't tell you how often I've been called "anti-social" and/or criticized for simply wanting to be alone. That passive-aggressive bullshit is just so annoying.

Pale Emperor: So this was 12 years ago. You could have studied as a doctor, graduated and be working by now.
THAT is an excellent point and an important one for lurkers to note, particularly younger ones contemplating going to college and having a career.
