gluttony seems to be a sin that jw's like to ignore .there are several scriptures that point out that gluttony is a sin, proverbs 23:20-21 "do not join those who gorge themselves on meat".....also i read somewhere that 1% is the number of disfellowshipped jw's each year......how do prove someone is a glutton and not just a person who love food???

No I haven't, but there sure are a lot of JWs that are extremely obese. Not that obesity and gluttony are one and the same, but there is certainly a strong correlation.
And I'm not must saying a little overweight, I mean morbidly obese.
It's noteworthy that the WTBTS has avoided that particular "deadly sin." Here's an interesting "confessional" on the subject by a Christian pastor:
so we've already established that most religions can be classified as high control groups, we can name the wbts, church of scientology, lds, etc.

Not always, but certainly sometimes. Again, the use of the world "always" shows that problematic black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking that I and others on this thread have repeatedly cautioned against.

The overwhelming response from members of this forum is: YES, most of us would, have and do break laws that we think are wrong, but we are willing to accept the consequences.

my boyfriend is an ex new jehovah witness and today i got a message from one of his friends asking if i could delete a comment he wrote on one of my pictures because my boyfriends mom is harassing him about it.
he also basically told me that she has people who added me just to view my profile and let her know!!!!
she also sends him messages and pictures from the watchtower.
You could tell them to mind their own f*@king business, but cult members don't like when others tell them what to do, (even though they have no problem doing just that themselves).

No, I am reporting the consensus of mental health professionals worldwide: a black and white worldview is not mentally healthy! It does not matter if it's about the law, customs, music ... whatever.
Rigid, inflexible thinking leads to mental health issues. It is positively correlated with depression, anxiety and Borderline Personality Disorder.

JD, one of the things I have learned is that being able to accept and deal with ambiguity and uncertainty is a sign of a mentally healthy worldview. In contrast, black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking associated with the blind acceptance and following of rules is in fact associated with mental illness.
You might want to give that some thought.
The world is a messy place.
