After leaving the JWs - Has anyone stayed with Christianity?
by rulehayl ini recently made the decision to stop studying with my study conductor, due to a situation i found myself in that led to a high possibility of my unbaptized publisher "rights" being taken away from me.
i have since told my study conductor i have joined a new church (to which she dropped me like a hot rock, of course).... last time i posted on here, i was progressing nicely towards baptism, and was well into it.anyhoo, i like my new church, very hillsong-esqe.
so just wondering if anyone else has stayed the course of christianity after leaving the jws, and if so - where did you go?

My JW indoctrination successfully convinced me that all OTHER religions are false. When I realized that JWs are a cult there was no religion left to want to be part of.
I'm not big on labels, but I guess you could call me "Spiritual, but not religious" (SBNR).

Spot the signs of a toxic leadership.
by Lost in the fog ini came across this article in the magazine psychology today.
it is about the traits of poor leaders in the field of employment although you could easily think it had been written about the gb.

When I read the article, I thought the author, psychiatrist Jean Kim, M.D., was talking about Donald Trump.
It fit's him to a "T"!

Clearly, undeniably, without doubt ... is there a term for introducing a thought in such a way.
by jwfacts inwatchtower article often introduce a point that has no merit with words such a "undeniably.".
for instance the watchtower 2014 august 15 page 10 says:.
"jehovah undeniably blesses the preaching work of christian women and supports them in times of trial.

Itâs kind of a combination of âpuffingâ (in the legal sense), the common sense fallacy, making unfounded assertions and begging the question.
The WTâs use of âevidentlyâ in their âexplanationâ of the âoverlapping generationâ teaching was what put it over the top for me.
I remember realizing it was all bullshit because they wrote âevidentlyâ (which implies there was some evidence) but they never provided any.
Itâs intellectually dishonest. They just make shit up and lie.
The example jwfacts cited in the OP smacks of bullying, manipulation and deceit when understood in light of the social dynamics of the JW religion. Seriously, whoâs going to say during a WT study, or even privately to any elder, âI think it IS deniable that âJehovah ... blesses the preaching work of Christian women and supports them in times of trial.ââ?
No one ever.

Sincere question to those who no longer believe in God
by nowwhat? ini get it, not a fan of yahweh the desert god.
but what about jesus?
anything wrong with his teachings like the sermon on the mount and the example he set.

Youâre kidding, right?
Jesus (if he even really existed) is credited with saying a whole bunch of really messed up shit.
Sure, cherry-pick the nice stuff and heâs fine. You could do that with Hitler.

Do You Care If A World Leader Had An Affair Before Taking Office?
by minimus ini donât care about it unless someone runs on a record of being a model family man or woman.. does it bother you if a president or princess or top government official âcheats â??

Leaders should, by definition, lead by example and set a higher standard than the average person.
They are human, not perfect, butâif they are to enjoy the privileges and benefits of their position they sure as hell better live up to the responsibilities as well.
The one thing I can never forgive anyone in a position of authority is hypocrisy and covering it up.
If anyone wants forgiveness, compassion and understanding for their shortcomings and failings, then they have to deserve it. When it comes to that, actions speak louder than words.

Humbled: Do your students ever have impediments to clear writing because they canât identify a thought or a feeling?
Only all the time!
That's really the challenge: to learn how to articulate and express those elusive and/or hard to define thoughts and feelings.
Heck, it's hard enough to write clearly when I know what I'm thinking and feeling! ... LOL

Yeah, there's always that ...
I often wish that my experience as a cult member was farther in the rear-view mirror than it is. Or to put it differently: I can't wait to be an ex-ex-JW.
For me at least, it's hard because I have two children who I love very much that are still in the cult. I imagine it'd be easier for me to let it go if they were out and we had a good, healthy relationship. But we do not.

CoCo, your words sound like you're describing the black dog of depression.
Perhaps I'm just recognizing someone I know all too well.
