It would be helpful is there were dates (even if only approximate) as to WHEN they were sold.

Start one. Be specific. List locations, dates and all other relevant details.

THEY act like the ones who are hurt??!!
by stuckinarut2 init really amazes me when jws act like we are hurting them!.
many of us have found that if we stop associating with them for valid reasons, they act all upset and hurt that we would be "so cruel as to limit our association or cut them off".
i know of friends here on the forum who have been told by parents that they "will shun them if they leave jehovah" , and yet when the shoe is on the other foot and our awake friends shun them first, the parents cry and bemoan the situation and say how "cruel it is to deprive them of their company".

Cults actively cultivate a “victim mentality” and learned helplessness among their members. It keeps them docile and easier to control.

Are we in a computer simulation?
by Brokeback Watchtower inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znmk2viuqba.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/simulation_hypothesis.
consequences of living in a simulation[edit]some scholars speculate that the creators of our hypothetical simulation may have limited computing power; if so, after a certain point, the creators would have to deploy some sort of strategy to prevent simulations from themselves indefinitely creating high-fidelity simulations in unbounded regress.

If you'll excuse me, I have to go reboot the Universe. I don't like how this one is turning out.

Did You Ever Luke ANY Songs From The “Songbook “?
by minimus ini went on line looking for old jw songs and some of them were pretty good and some were just awful!.
did you ever like any of those songs?

I liked two:
- Walking in Integrity
- Make the Truth Your Own
Coincidentally, "Integrity" was actually the first song I ever learned when I started "studying" with JWs. Years later when I started studying jazz I became convinced that "Integrity" is a complete rip-off of the jazz standard, Stella by Starlight. (PM me for details if your curious for more).
I ended up becoming friends with the guy who wrote "MTTYO." He was something of a mentor to me when I was in the cult so I was surprised when he left it a few years before I did.
We reconnected after I left and now we're all good again "Making TTATT our Own!"

What if a gay person wearing a MAGA hat wants to order a wedding cake? What then?
Well in that case, MAGA = Make America Gay Again!
Let them eat cake, and the hat should be pink ... or rainbow colored!

Mother is terrified over talks of peace.
by Searching injust spoke with my mother about the summit for north and south korea, her face turned a ghastly pale and she refused to talk to me about it afterwards.
i know exactly what is on her mind, and i'm not sure if i can say or do anything to assuage her fears about this being a fulfillment of prophecy.
any suggestions on what i could perhaps tell her to try and steer her from her line of thinking?

She should be happy. Armageddon is about to happen!
Does mom have some "secret sins" perhaps?
Snarky comments aside, this is the problem with doomsday cults: they fuck with people's minds and make them terrified of imaginary events that'll never happen.

J.W's Brain LOCKDOWN
by Phizzy ini know we often talk of the mind control and how jw's believe what they are taught because they are controlled as to the information they receive, but i think the mind control goes frighteningly beyond simply keeping information away from them.. the jw mind is in lockdown.
it simply cannot accept facts, evidence, reasoning or whatever that goes against what they believe.
they cannot assimilate and consider an argument, it is not that they are being awkward, or willfully blind, their minds are so shut down they are incapable of taking in what is being presented.. i am aware of how, in common with other cults and high control groups the j.w org achieves this state among its members, but how on earth do we open such a solidly closed mind ?.

Here are a couple of other ideas on this subject:
The best chance of reaching a loved one that is in a cult is simply respectful, heartfelt communication. Unfortunately there is no “magic-bullet” or one approach that always works.
As counseling psychologist Michael D. Langone, PhD, the Executive Director of the ICSA, explains, the best approach is the “patient, persistent communication of that which ultimately shatters all walls: truth, honesty, respect and love” (Giambalvo, 5).
Here also is an anecdotal account of what worked for one former JW cult member and how her husband helped her learn TTATT:
Do not use or share any “apostate” material (study it before for topics and ideas, but do not directly mention or reference)
Never criticized or put down the organization, GB, elders, etc. Very important since one is so sensitive to that subject when you believe they are directed by Jehovah.
Never, ever discuss doctrine
Never disrespected the JW’s beliefs.
Share doubts, but do so in a humble, non-confrontation manner. Don’t assert definite answers or proof: “I researched this and found out it's not the truth because ... blah blah blah. …”
Use lots of questions and try to let your relative/loved one think for themselves.
