sorry to be a forum shopper, but just in case there's someone here that didn't read it there, i'm wanting to find anyone who remembers a tv doco produced in 1994 for the canadian "rough cuts" series of independent documentaries called "children of jehovah".. it took a devastatingly honest look at the lives of jw teens, showing them begrudgingly doing field service, revealing the tricks they pulled to boost the figures on their monthly reports and talking about what would happen to them if they left the religion.. it appears to be available for $149 as a dvd, but i wonder if anyone taped it at the time or has a copy they could, you know, share.
somehow.. it made quite an impact on me when i watched it on australia's sbs in 1995. does anyone remember it?.

mother-in-law sends my wife a thank you card because she did something nice for her mom on their 33rd wedding anniversary.
they went out to eat dinner, a cake was provided, and everyone had a good time.
frankly, all that was needed was the candles and a song and it would be no different than a birthday party.
One point about Wedding Anniversaries. You aren't supposed to make a big deal out of it just a small gathering. So saith the JW's..
But I have noticed most of the ones for 50 years are pretty large. They rent a hall and everything! No one says a word..
So much for rules..
I like the idea of a "Birthday Anniversary" also..have a kids party and tell them it is a "Anniversary" of the first time you saw (the child's name)..
Heck, they have New Years eve parties and call it a get together with horns to blow and everything..nothing wrong with a "First time I saw you anniversary".(Birthday party).

Good point Moshe, you have to use bible type reasoning with them. Common sense reasoning doesn't work..
Dagnabit- a sheep herder back then didn't have a daily calendar! Most people only knew the season or moon they were born in. Celebrating a birthDAY was something only the kings could do, as they had a calendar and priests to mark the days for them. So celebrating a birthday was out of the question for the poor- perhaps they might have been jealous of the rich who could keep track of daily time. That is why the Bible doesn't mention birthdays for the common classes- only the Kings.
thanks to all who have given me such support this past week, for your kind pms, and all your hints and tips for leaving..or slipping away.
hubby threw out all my wt and awake literature yesterday (going back to 1983, it was a lot!).

Good way to put it!
Im a non-confrontational person who lives with panic and anxiety everyday. This is me giving myself a bit of power, and telling myself I can do it. No biggy for anyone else, but massive for me.
husband woke up this weekend in pain with soreness right above the heel on his foot .
by sunday he was in so much pain he could hardly walk .
monday his doctor said it looks like an old injury because there is calcification around the area ,and that most likely the tendon had been torn before and might be on the verge of rupturing completely .
Just to let you know my knee injury was from a bad fall I had when taking care of hubby. I had to wait till he died to have it fixed. What do you mean my parts are wearing out?..
I even have strong bones according to a bone density test I just had..
ps..The cowboy boots sounds fun, might look a little wierd on a football field un;ess he wears a cowboy hat with it tho....

if it becomes obvious to strangers on an internet message board that you should get therapy/counseling:.
my wife and i are in therapy both separately and together.
we're not crazy; we're getting help talking through issues we've never had to face before from a professional who knows how to talk us through things.
Lots of advice here so I will keep it short and sweet.
To me a therapist is not someone that can change all that happened or is happening to you it can help you learn how to deal with/handle it.
Also will help you understand why you/we got involved with the crazy JW's in the first place as they don't literally chain and drag you to their meetings did they.... (not born ins)

1) i think it's ridiculous to tell anyone when and how to use something they paid for ( computers and internet service ).
2) i think it's ridiculous to tell married couples how to act in the bedroom.
3) i think it's ridiculous to tell people what kinda cars they should buy ( 4 door for fieldservice ).
Obviously you aren't a mother...
I tell those things to my grown kids all the time..
"You paid WHAT for that?"....

Well I did some reading and it sounds a lot more intense than my knee. They mention casting either with or without surgery for up to 6 months.
I saw a picture of one and it looks like there is a swollen area right above the heel.
Surgery I think was Micro but sounded more involved than mine being it was a muscle involving the calf of the leg..I can imagine the pain he must have been in..I would recommend getting it fixed as soon as possible. I know how bad a charley horse can be, hubby used to wake up screaming and holding his leg with them. He couldn't put his foot down to walk because the pain was so intense! his scream used to make me jump straight up out of bed while I was still half asleep!..lol
Snoozy,
ps ..let us know what happens..

I had surgery to correct some torn ligaments in my knee, may not be the same. But it was a mini surgery where they just make little puncture holes to operate. The shaved the frazzled torn ligament and scaped some calcification off the knee..no pain after and felt great after that. All my pain went away..remarkable..
I was able to walk on it right away but no steps for a few days and no driving. May be different for a ankle area..
