I Need Some Help!

i know i'm taking the easy way out----but i'm in a debate with a (particularly snotty) jw and i can't find the answer in the "litter-ature"...but its gotta be there somewhere...... it concerns a jw praying for a dfed or a daed jw.....i always understood that a jw could not pray for them.....but this jw says they can...and do.. has there been "noo lite" on this?

did *i* misunderstand it all these years?.

is there any printed wts info about this?

Thanks for the info MsMcduckett...Reading it reminded me of something I mentioned before but I don't know if anyone commented on it.

It concers putting your hand on the Bible in court and swearing to tell the truth..did the JW's at one time say the JW's couldn't do this?

I know there was some controversy in our KH about it for a while..you know how the gossip gets aroung without actually being taught..

Edited to add..a lot of us JW's that were in the "Truth" a while back remember the "Old school teachings". A lot of the newer witnesses aren't told what the JW's USED to teach..so they call us liars...I remember when I first came to the X boards and started to do research..I was shocked..if I hadn't looked the info up in my old literature I wouldn't have believed it.It felt so good to know they were so wrong..

where did the year go?

suddenly it is december... again - and we realize that with giant strides we started in january and within a blink of an eye, 2006 is on its back!.

Christmas Dinner...some Ideas please!

if you are hosting, or even for your own family, what are you serving for christmas dinner?.

i dont't want to do turkey again and i have done enough ham to make everyone board to tears!

anyone have an unusual dish they serve?.

Well since I am alone now my Daughters Mother in law invited me to share Christmas Eve with her and their family.
I had thanksgiving over there and had a wonderful time.

They have a tradition of their own. They draw names (Kids) and each child gets one present (inexpensive) they open that and then they have ...get this...

CHILI and hot dogs!

I couldn't believe it. But that is what they have and have done it for years.

My other daughter will be alone ..her son (my grandson) will be with his Dad at Christmas..so I am going to go to her house I think. We will probably have some turkey from Honey Baked ham company. It is delicious. And I have to have mashed potatoes.

Then I will have my White russian and she will have her 7 up and vodka..ugh!

Then I might have another White Russian..

Snoozy..who will probably be spending the night at her daughter's.

Mouthy..I have LOTS of aches and pains...

I know just what pain reliever helps what pain..(Backache...headache..joint ache..etc.)

Had knee trouble but they fixed that..(Torn ligaments)

And a few other problems..to numerous to mention..

Snoozy...who has a backache at the moment..I need a new computer chair...

It's a Wonderful Life (the movie)

i am 51 years old and have watched this movie every xmas as far back as i can remember.

i was watching it last night and crying like a baby.

oh yea, i was pretty well lit, that probably didn't help.

Happy dad..I know what you mean. But as my late hubby was a JW..we rarely shared movies like that..

So I sat and cried alone even when he was alive.

I mostly enjoy being alone now..but I sure do miss having someone to share things with....Even little things like laughing at a movie..my laugh echo's in my mind.

I have two daughters and a son that are grown and have families of their own. Besides kids just aren't the same..they have their own interests ,lives and families now.

And forget vacations unless you have a close friend.

I used to go to the park that hubby and I shared after he died but I would end up bawling and have to leave.

Snoozy...who sure misses hubby...

I think next year I will volunteer or something ...maybe that will help.

What kind of Ex-dub are you?

right now, i can't figure it out.

i'm still scared to say anything to offend my daughters.

i don't want them to cut me off completely, so does that make me a weak ex-dub?

I was the same way Ms McDucket. Hubby was a JW and it caused so many arguments. Usually with us both clamming up.

Now that he's gone I realize it just wasn't really that important to me that he believed. It was his choice. I wish I hadn't spent so many of our hours together arguing about it.

The thing was...how many times can you hear someone say you are going to die if you don't come back and his Mom (JW)even told him God would give him a new wife and he would make hubby forget me! That hurt. Then I would retaliate..big mistake. No need to prove who is wrong and who is right..I realized that too late.

Sometimes our ego's get in the way of our common sense..

Lost my job.

My daughters husband is facing that right now. A few months ago he found out the company he is vice president for got bought out by 3 M..a big corporation.

He was all excited and saw great things coming his way. Now he just found out his job is being eliminated and they may want to put him back in sales..which he doesn't want.

Now he is playing the wait and see game. He is not in a happy mood right now!

Guess he better sell that VIPER he bought a few months ago...

I don't know why they always pick Christmas to do these things...

Sinus problems

i have had sinus problems my entire life, recently a friend told me about this sinu-cleanse thing, its a sinus cleansing treatment that you can get at cvs pharmacy, its pretty cool, its a little pot that you mix warm water with saline solution and put in one nostral and it drains out the other, the first time i used it i had a bad sinus head ache and thought well i will give this thing a try, so i mixed it up and did the treatment, blood clots and pink then red water started coming out of my nose, and after i noticed my headache was gone, i could breath great, and felt a lot less pressure in my head.

this thing is pretty awesome!

just thought i share with all of you.. sorry if its a bit gross.

My Grandson did this..he made his own. He is 16..his Mom wouldn't let him do it with Sea Salt..(Recommended) or uniodized salt..he just used plain water.

He saw it on the computor and made one himself as he has a lot of allergies which clog his sinus.

It is referred to as a Netty Pot on the computor..
