My kids had nightmares for a long time after we left. They still have lingering fears..I taught them a little TOO well! I was such a good little JW...
Snoozy...who has regrets to this day. Poor kids...
i have come to realize and thank whomever(maybe god...lol) for not raising my children into such a cult.. i'm sorry, he is a horrible, rotten brat from the dark pits of hell!
annoyingly screams all the time, his usual punishment is spanking(or beat as my sister calls it) - i avoid this because, 1) it's not my child.
2) spanking isn't the answer.

i decided to do a couple fluff threads tonight as my threads have been way too deadly seroius lately !
so if someone told you to pick one song that was your all-time favorite, what would you pick ?
i'd have to say for me it has not changed since the 1971 hit by led zeppelin, " stairway to heaven ".
My Daughter in law loves Kashmir..she has it on her license plate. She had a problem for a while when there was so much trouble in Kashmir...
This is for Insomniac...Lion sleeps tonight or Wimoweh...I don't remember who originally sang it in the 50's but I have the old 45..packed away.
Here is a site talking about the song and a you tube cutie singing it.

we traced our faces/cups/sink fitures and ect.
Good idea FF..you're never to old for crafts...

with the increase in evangelical churches there seems to be a lot more emphasis on the practise of "speaking in tongues".
i quite like the way these churches conduct services, with live music and great singing.
it is so different to the kh meetings and like fresh air.
We used to call them "Holy Rollers"...
My question is how do you know it is from "God?".
If you believe in "good "spirits don't you also have to also believe in "Bad" spirits?
Snoozy..not a believer...

My 17 year old grandaughter is in the process of painting her room..while she was a teen she had friends over and they all wrote messages on one wall..she now thinks it's time to cover it up..lots of memories for her though.
Some people even paint one wall with chalkboard paint..then they can erase the drawings ..the crazy things they come up with these days...
Snoozy...who used to keep a giant drawing pad and sparkles for her grandkids when they were small...they would draw a picture then outline it with glue and sprinkle sparkles on it and shake off the excess..they loved it and my house sparkled for weeks..
Aw I miss those days...................little darlings...I do get to have lunch with them tomorrow though..
i hardly ever take an extended warranty.
call me cheap, but something new shouldn't break.
and if it does, the 1 year coverage should be enough to make sure i didn't buy a lemon.. many say that companies make their money with additional warranties, and that you're better off not taking it and paying for the repair if ever there is one to be made.. when i see a 27 tv at 250$ compared to 700$ 10 years ago, i won't pay for an additional warranty.
I bought one for my grandson's Wii...you never know!
Little rascal...

well lets get off to a good start for the year by using jesus to justify staying with your abusive husband:.
thursday, january 3. when [jesus] was being reviled, he did not go reviling in return.
when he was suffering, he did not go threatening.-1 pet.
When my hubby was dying..they sent a very old guy out to visit him..it was the only one they could spare...and he was almost completely deaf.
Well his idea of upbuilding my hubby was to read him the daily text...hubby was too weak to talk and this guy was practically deaf anyway..so he thought he would just read to huuby. Well the text of the day was about a woman's monthly menstral cycle...
When he started reading that my jaw dropped open..I couldn't believe he was reading that to a dying man to uplift him. Hubby wasn't paying attention anyway but I was still appauled. The stupid text even went into detail...I would have stopped him but he wouldn't have heard me...
Then I loudly had to remind him to please say a prayer for hubby before he left.
Idiots!...No one else came to visit him...He died thinking Jehovah was punishing him by not having anyone visit him because he didn't go to the meetings regularly.
I got rid of all his books except his bible later...good riddance to bad rubbish...
Snoozy..
are you the type of person that believes everything a person says?.
typically, my radar goes up, especially if a person either brags about all his or her accomplishments or tells you a sob story about how awful their life is.. i was reading here today about how some posters have been upset with others for either feeling someone is fraudulent or is uncaring or caring too much.. the funny thing is that most of us never really know who or what a person/poster is all about.
they could be perfectly upfront and tell you everything in a most truthful way or they could be conning you.
I agree..this is a support board for people wanting to leave or have left the JW organization...not a support board for those having mental or monetery problems!
We are in no position to counsel anyone.Nor should we try..
We share experiences but in no way can we guarantee that the way we handled a problem will work for someone else..I wouldn't want that burden on my shoulders.
Only one thing I do encourage is giving those that are sick our support..real or not..it is proven that prayer and support and energy sent CAN help a person survive a major illness. I just read about it in our sunday paper...being skeptical I was very surprised. I will no longer hold back because I doubt them. This would be emotional support not monetary. (Unless I know them personally.)
That's one reason I like this board..people are so willing to show emotional support to those that are ill...they really care.
Snoozy..
so it's january 1 and i want to lose ten pounds in ten weeks.
i've been on a diet for a year and a half and have lost 130 pounds.
weight loss has slowed down, so i need more focus and more exercise.
Housework is great excercise!
Get on your knees and scrub the floor...wipe and clean cabinets out...clean windows..vaccumn every other day..scrub bathrooms..you would be surprised how many calories you can burn...and your house will look great...
Wash inside and outside of car...rake leaves...clean up brush...
Take and extra trip up and down the steps..
And it doesn't cost a thing...
Only make your portions of food no bigger than the inside of your hand..
No eating after 6...
Too much water is overrated...if you are overweight you will have a tendency to store water in your tissues...
Too much fruit will add too much sugar to your system...turns into fat..
No more than 3 helpings of bread products is recommended..that would include one of cereal..and 2 slices of bread..if you want popcorn or macaroni..you have to remove a slice of bread or cereal..a total should be no more than 3...This includes potato and peas..only 3 starch servings a day.If you cheat..have one less the next day
Find juice with the smallest amount of sugar..and add no sugar to other food or drink if can be helped.
No marbled meats...only lean meats and no portion bigger than your palm.
My hints for the day... (Portions taken from a diet supplied by an M.D.)
