when i was a bible fundamentalist jehovah's witness it was easy for me to dismiss homosexuality as a sin and move onto the next, more interesting, topic.
it is much more complicated than that for me at this point in my life.. i think about it this way:.
what if i, a heterosexual, were raised in a community where everybody was homosexual and heterosexuality had a harsh taboo attached to it.

Can you imagine, as a straight male, swallowing load after load of your husbands cum just so the other people will like you?
Can you imagine doing that for many years and then finding out the church and the people who made you feel you had to was a lie?
Like I said, I never had to endure that. But so many have.
That was just a disgusting example to use. Couldn't you think of something a little more classier?

So you're saying a person can be "Talked" into becoming gay/ lesbian?
Interesting..I always wondered about that and how influence from another person/persons could sway a person towards that lifestyle.

well we don't care that he has cut us off!
we have 4 kids, he ain't going to see them before the grim reaper comes lookin for him.
my job skills are well in demand in alberta canada so that's our next move, we are getting out of the uk sinking ship asap, we have family in alberta who will sponsor us so i think it's time to leave and make a new start for our kids, as their aren't no jobs in the uk for them now even with university qualifications behind them.
Funny think about shunning, you know in your heart that something about it just isn't right and yet they convince you.threaten you to do it.
I remember the heartfelt feeling I had for this one sister that got disfellowshipped for smoking..I so wanted to talk to her but was advised not to..I feared they would kick me out of the religion if I did so I didn't. But my heart was telling me it was so wrong and I should talk to her..should have followed my instincts..
I often wonder if these people doing the shunning (including parents or children JW's) are broken hearted and in pain because they too are under the WTBTS spell..I wonder if they too feel something just isn't right about it (shunning)..
It's sad that the WTBTS is able to interfere with so many families and their lives..

we always know when the gb or wt leaders are nervous and worried about potential alleged " threats " to jehovah's witnesses - because they repetitively keep mentioning these perceived " threats " in talks at assemblies or in wt articles constantly.. the " witness only " august 15th wt is no different.
in a non-study article entitled " the internet - making wise use of a global tool " once again the wt society instills doubt and fear into witnesses by " warning " them about use of the internet.
3 " while the internet can provide valuable information, save us time, and serve a useful function, it can also misinform us, consune an inordinate amount of our time, and corrupt us morally.
Most of the witnesses I know on the computer spend a lot of time playing "Farmville"..when they could be studying..or out in service..they also talk about their "wine " parties..where were these fun witnesses when i was one?..

I knew a Brother (witness) that worked at a gas station/garage. When he first started working there they didn't carry cigarettes. Eventually they started to sell cigarettes. The "Brother" was told it was part of his job now. The Brother said in all good conscience he couldn't sell something that would cause a person's death and gave his resignation and quit. A few Brothers didn't agree with his views.
He and his family (wife and daughter) had to pack up and move back home to Arkansas to live with his parents till he could get another job.
He and his wife ended up cleaning offices and homes.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when you work for someone else you have to do it their way or find another job that agrees with your beliefs..

As far as resurrection goes I remember being "told" that when someone is resurrected they won't look the same but we would still know it was them by their actions.. That put a questoin mark in my mind that their may be a glitch in that resurrected teaching thing.. Wouldn't you think they would look the same?

I remember going as a child with a friend to a Pentecostal church one time and it scared the jesus out of me!
If it is supposed to be inspired by God why would it scare you? Wouldn't /shouldn't it make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? That's my kind of church!!!
