  music groups that pi$$ed JWs off

  i always found it funny that jws hated pop groups with a passion.

  here's some groups, that i was always being had a go at for listening to, or told that they shouldnt be listened to...

  guns n roses - for sexist and viloent lyrics.

  It's one more example, and a very good one, of how the jws get so carried away by things they perceive as threats. My god, do Guns N Roses even matter any more? Same with most of this stuff. Groups become popular, then the winds of popularity shift. So when we look back, it's "what was all the fuss about?" by the jws.

  exactly, I brought this point up with my mom just a few days ago. I asked what was the big deal about me keeping teen magazines and tapes in my room when I was younger, she either destroyed them herself or made me destroy them. She said that it was idolatry. I asked her "do you still see me now hanging up posters in my room and keeping teen magazines.? Do you see me "worshipping" those people? It was JUST A PHASE, all teenagers of ALL NATIONALITIES and RELIGIONS do the SAME THING." she was silent for the rest of the day.

  10. Which teachings of the WTBTS do you disagree with the most? no blood and disfellowshipping

  13. What was your worst experience at the door in the field service? anytime someone actually answered the door and wanted to talk--I was never prepared

  18. how did you deprogram yourself from WT thinking? I had been deprogrammed for about 2 years prior to my DA. I basically challenged myself by doing all the so called "prohibited" things, like going to a birthday party, celebrating christmas with coworkers. Once I realized that there could be a life outside ot the WTS, I broke free.
  19. Has anyone else quit the religion because you left? my younger brother has faded away completely

  Do You Remember the Day of Your Baptism?

  i was 9 years old when i took the plunge.

  i remember my baptism, mostly because, i was baptized twice.

  How much money would it take for you to go out in service?

  say you had to go out in field service for 2 hours in your neighborhood and talk to your neighbors about jehovah.

  what would somebody have to pay you to do this or would you not do it for any amount of money?

  if i am going to humilate myself it better be worth my while.

  It was either July 23rd or 24th, 1988 I was 13. Orchard Beach. 588 got dunked that day. It was also unusually cool that day, very unusual for NYC in July. My mother's first words to me after I came out of the water: "your legs look really fat." notice how I remember that stupid comment and not the exact day of my baptism LOL!!!

  Ground Zero

  i recently traveled to new york city, but was not there to focus attention on the watchtower.

  rather, ground zero was on my agenda, and i was not disappointed, though i discovered a few surprises.

  i have been in the twin towers (wtc) several times, and have pictures of the view, including the watchtower buildings across the east river.

  He asked what I was taking a picture of, to which I responded "Ground Zero, and other sight-seeing locations."

  I cant help but cringe when people treat ground zero like a tourist attraction instead of a mass grave, which is what it really is sorry can't help it.

  North America: Tonight, Advance Your Clocks 1 Hour

  just a reminder, in case you forget, or perhaps did not know, tonight, if you live in north america, you advance your clock: + 1 hour

  so...you lose one hour sleep.

  here, we change the clock at 3:00 a.m., but of course, change it maybe before you go to bed, or when you wake up tomorrow morning.

  why manon? I look forward to changing time every spring. more daylight hours. I hate the long nights. makes me wonder why do we have to fall back in October? why not leave daylight savings all year round?

  do you think that the younger generation of witnesses are just as devout as the older ones in the congregation?

  and do you think that the witnesses in general are just as devout today as they were 10 or 20 years ago?

  In my experience, the younger generations in my old congregation showed a degree of devotion just about equal to 0, especially if the parents were prominent in the congregation.
