Do you feel safe where you live?
by Beans ini was just driving back from the store on a street where a young man was killed a few years back, as he was murdered right on the street i often think of this every time i drive back from the store.
his house was about 100 feet from where his body lie in the street and blocks from my house.. i actually feel safe where i live and do know where to go and not to in toronto but crime happens everywhere no matter where you are, you can live in the quietest neighbourhood and right next door the worst can and has happened.
do you know where to walk at night and where not too in your town?

WHAT DID YOU MISS OUT ON WHEN IN THE BORG
by nightwarrior inwe as a family allways wanted a family pet as in (dog ) but as the ministry loomed every weekend ,as well as the meetings we decided that it would be to much trouble ,subconciously the influence came from other members in the congregation ,which in turn came from the elders in turn from the bethel ,allways sprouting on about the ministry first ,you never had time for anything elsemow ,yes a dog would be to much trouble, but now,for the past two /half years my younger children are enjoying the companionship of an animal in the house,as well as 2 cats which we have had for past eight years,.
did you find time for animals.. what did you miss out on ,allso for past 14 years we have had different caravans and motor homes ,.
what did you miss out on when in the borg ,and how did it affect you.

I most missed the family gatherings and making friends. my view of non-JW people in general was so distorted it was difficult to make friends. I think I still am affected by that thinking in some form today.
I also missed planning for the future and getting a good education, but Im working on that now.

we all remember certain things and events when we were young, but do you remember certain events in your life when you were only 3 or 4 years old?

Reading Older Publications Can Be Hazardous
by blondie inhow to use this index (1930-1985).
in view of the many years covered, the material indexed some decades ago should be viewed in the light of proverbs 4:18: "the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.".
a lot of the real truth about the wts i have learned through their own publications.

what a pathetic disclaimer. its amazing how desperately the WTS tries to cover it's ass with such lame bulls***

Isn't it odd?
by troucul inisn't it odd that after the gulf war, george h.w.
bush promised a "kinder, gentler, u.s."?
nice to see his son follow in his footsteps.... i know what most supporters of the upcoming war are going to say, that 'the world changed after 9-11'...i don't believe that.

For instance, some years ago when the Mexican economy was on the verge of collapse, Congress acted to shore it up via a multi-billion dollar aid package
with the Mexican national oil and petrochemical industry put up as collateral in order to receive this "aid".....

in grades 9 and 10 I was rebellious, cursed out the teachers, got bad grades and cut class. I got suspended once in grade 9 for excessive cuts.
in grades 11 and 12 my grades improved, I cut less and didn't curse out anyone. even though I wasn't thinking about college, I was encouraged to go, and ended up going to a 2 year business school, then transferred to a 4 year state university, and now, 10 years later, working on my Masters.
