No offence meant but is this place some kind of waystation inhabited by beings neither in nor out of the lie? This is not a criticism just an observation. I'm only new here. I know it can take time to make up your mind-SolidSender

New System Conundrum
by RedhorseWoman indoes everyone remember the wt stating that in the new system, after everyone has been resurrected, there will be at least one acre per person?.
didn't that seem like a lot of space to you?
i know it did to me, growing up in a typical suburban neighborhood.

Dubby - sorry about the confusion, it's just that when you mentioned checking out who had been augmented amongst the naked sisters in the new system i guess i was automatically imagining pam anderson types - just a reflex mental association when it comes to that subject i suppose. so you plan on looking at non lustworthy naked sisters in the new system? Regarding Hell - i've read some interesting return from the dead reports on people who had gone to Hell and came back. The general concensus is that it's pretty darn good down there! Very similar to a Vegas Casino. Bars, naked women, gambling, Elvis etc . Everyone was really upset about being brought back from there it was so good.- SolidSender

Qualified to be elders?
by Andyman inthis is an issue that really bothers me.
the elders are supposed to be looking after the well being of the congregation.
they are supposed to be helping those in need.

PathofThorns, exactly my point above, because of the fleshly, legislative atmosphere motive is thrown wide open to doubt.

Andy - sorry about jumping to conclusions. It's just that I figure there's a real gap around here for someone to take the non wishy washy stand. The fatal flaw with the WTBTS is that by convincing themselves that christianity is organisation and regulation bound ( comparable to mosaic law bound Israel ) they've by default thrown love as a motive for service to God completely into doubt ( comparable to mosaic law bound israel ). The result being the absurd elder situation described by yourself at the top of this thread and in fact absurd situations within the organisation described by just about everyone on this post at some time or another. I'm the first to admit I'm a cynic but I paid a high price ( 15 years as a witness )to be one, so I think I've got the right to be one. I'm still trying to get their indoctrination out of my system but doubt if I ever will completely such is it's insidious nature. I believe that one can never give enough consideration to what the hell has gone on and is going on here. I think it's very important to take your life seriously. It got to the point where I was very unhappy being a witness and for me that was important enough reason to put an end to it. More later I guess-SolidSender

SC - and you're surprised? You'll probably get a shepherding call soon. What easier way for an elder to notch up a couple of hours and enjoy a power trip at the same time on a Saturday afternoon.-SolidSender

Crisis With Singles and Single Parents Looming?
by Pathofthorns inlikely we've all noticed that on the two major jw discussion forums the most active forums are the "singles or dating" forums.. it would appear that there is an increasingly large number of single parents appearing in the congregations these days for whatever reason.. i admire these ones for the effort they put forth to bring their children up taking on the role of both parents.
from many of their comments in the "singles " forums, it appears many find being a single parent an extreme liability in "the truth" as far as finding a mate goes.
i wonder if jw culture has something to do with how these ones are viewed as prospective marriage mates vs. the mentality in the "world".. as far the single people go, there appears to be almost a certain desperation to get married, further scaring off potential mates.

Or 7 how about similar to a leading role in an Arthur Miller play ie. The Crucible? The disrespect for individual privacy in the lie ( I henceforth refuse to apologetically refer to it as the truth ) is in my opinion appalling and inexcusable. I don't know why anyone would put themselves through it. Your relationship suddely becomes everyones relationship like it's public property.
Pathofthorns - I think the "snag in this equation" - titles ( lets face it - rank ) is symptomatic of the entire sterile, fleshly, sinister mindset that pollutes the entire "brotherhood" ( read 4th Reich ). -SolidSender
