i would like to know who is an atheist here and why you like to take part in discussions on this board?.
thanks for your replies.
I believe in god...not GOD. My definition of god is morality. These are often considered one and the same, especially by religous persons. Since I set my own standards as to my morality, I guess that makes ME my own god. COOL!! (btw...if anyone would like to join my cult and volunteer all of your time, money and services to the cause, feel free to email me! Just don't ask any stupid questions...I do all the thinkin' 'round here!)
Solus,
Welcome to the board ...and you're very funny!

now look at the statement made by the mate frederick franz in 1970:.
*** w99 2/1 19 our treasure in earthen vessels ***.
they are, not additions to the ranks of the anointed, but replacements for those who may have fallen away.. .
Very interesting facts! I'm calculating right now...just letting you know that this subject isn't ignored. I'll post my thoughts tomorrow night on this.
thank you , MacHislopp.

Englishman,
To say that there is no God at all is almost as stupid as saying that God definitely exists. It`s just the same as saying that life does / does not exist on other planets.
That is a strong statement. Why do you always have to make me think so much?
Stop the insanity! ( I always say that when someone baffles me. )

the january 6, 2001 issue of the british medical journal published.
an article detailing recent changes in the watchtower society's blood.

here is what I understand the WBTS as saying in the press release dated July 14, 2000. ....
If a JW accepts a blood transfusion against his/her will, ( as in if the one in life-saving need is a minor and it goes to court to save the child's life ) then there is no sin committed. So the matter is dropped.
If an adult accepts a blood transfusion, AND THEN LATER REGRETS it, then this would be A SERIOUS MATTER. From there, a judical committee will be formed to judge the recipients heart to judge if it was a " moment of weakness" or not. Note that if the a person feels like they've committed a sin ( ie...against what the WBTS considers "serious , or gross sins), regretting it later does NOT count for repentance by any means. Instead, it becomes a SERIOUS MATTER to be investigated and judged.
Absolutely NOTHING about accepting fractions of blood was never mentioned or explained in the press release to the media! It's no wonder at all that the WBTS has to constantly hid what they say to the media from the rank and file. To make it alll even worse, they actaully attempt to cover their asses by sending letters to congregations for "elders only" to read.
Does anyone have the episode of ER: Real life trauma ( or something like that) from this past year that showed the older JW couple who got in the terrible auto accident, on tape? I did watch it, but I didn't know ahead of time what it was going to show, or I would have taped it.

zev,
This may be of help as part of your research too.
http://ajwrb.org/basics/breaking.shtml
It exposes what the society says to the public, and then what kind of letters they send out to elders ( for only them to read ) of all congregations after they said what they did to the media. No explaination was ever published for the rank and file JWs that I know of.

how about this one to refresh the memory?.

the folly of speculating.
Machislopp,
I love all your posts. They are are very enlightening and thought provoking. If you really want to do a search about "those who love to speculate" and those "voicing their theories on how or when this or that is going to happen.", then do a search on your cd using the search word "1975". You'll be amazed.
Thank you for all your posts. I read all of them.

have you noticed how illustrations in the watchtower magazine reinforce witness stereotypes?.
the april 15 issue of the watchtower, on the back page, shows a man viewing pornographic material on his computer screen.
the appearance is not of a cleancut man with business shirt and tie in this case; no, this unclean man is portly and has a black beard.
ozziepost,
You brought out a such a good point! I've often noticed (the illustrations stuck out more that the reading) that the illustrations definately steroetype. You should take notice of the illustrations of Jesus in the WTs every March, right before the memorial too. Actually, take notice of the illustrations of the Awake mags every March also. Pay special attention to the back cover AFTER reading the articles. Also, pay attention to how many pages of the mags are discussing Jesus at that time of year. Compare it to how many pages are discussing the "organisation" in the same magazine. That speaks volumes.

watchtower, april 15, 2001 page 23,. but i am constantly with you; you have taken hold of my right hand.
with your counsel you will lead me, and afterward you will take me even to glory.
(psalm 73:23-24) one christian who was abused as a child learned the wisdom of these words, keeping in close association with the congregation, she says, showed me a different side to life.
“Keeping in close association with the congregation,” she says, “showed me a different side to life. I saw very clearly that the Christian elders were loving, that they were not policeman but shepherds.”
That sentence leaves a lot to be desired too. More than likely, the elders never told her to go to the police to see what the statute of limitations was on reporting such abuse to the proper authorities, to see if she could bring the perpetrator to justice. Although, they might have if the perpetrator was a worldling.
