POTENTIAL NEW NIGERIA-STYLE EMAIL SCAM

last week i got two emails from "russian businessmen".

they are complaining about the difficulty of doing business, due to the high taxes there.

so, they suggest a "workaround": they need to find people to privately ship merchandise to them.

And here is a strange one I got today:

I got your name and contact from the Ivoirian chamber of
commerce and industry.

I prayed over it and selected your name Among other names
due to its esteeming nature and there recommendations given
to me as a reputable and trust person that I can do
business with and by the recommendation , I must not
hesitate to confide in you for this simple and sincere
business.

I AM MR Philip Kouame The only son of late Chief. Johnson Boua My father
was a very wealthy cocoa merchant in Abidjan but
we are Ghananian and I and my Family are here for about 20
year (twenty years)the capital City of Cote d'Ivoire.

My father was poisoned to death by his business
associates on one of their outings on a business trip.

My mother died when I was a baby and since then my father
took me so special. Before his death on (18 January 2002)
in a private hospital here in Abidjan he secretly called me
on his bed side and told me that he has the sum of eleven
million,five hundred thousand United State Dollars.

(US$(11.5m) left in fixed /suspense account in one of the
prime bank here in Abidjan ,that he used my name as his
only son for the next of Kin in depositing of the fund.

He also explained to me that it was because of this wealth
that he was poisoned by his business associates.

That I should seek for a foreign partner in a country of my
choice where i will transfer this money and use it for
investment purpose such as real estate management or hotel
management.

Dear, I am honourably seeking your assistance in the
following ways:

(1) To provide a bank account into which this money
would be transferred to.

(2) To serve as a guardian of this fund since I am
only 22 years.

(3) To make arrangement for me to come over to your
country to further my Education and to secure a
resident permit in your country.

More over, dear I am willing to offer you 15% of the
total sum as compensation for your effort/input after
the successful transfer of this fund into
your nominated account overseas.

Further more, you indicate your options towards
assisting me as I believe that this transaction would
be concluded within seven (7) days you signify
interest to assist me.

And I'd like to add some scriptures in response to what DJ is saying.

Matthew 15 : 7-9 (NWT)

YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’" 10 With that he called the crowd near and said to them: "Listen and get the sense of it: 11 Not what enters into [his] mouth defiles a man; but it is what proceeds out of [his] mouth that defiles a man."

So was Jesus telling the Pharisses that they were guilty of "worshipping" Him, or that they were guilty of "lip service"?

Will Power,

Thank you providing the link to Lady Lee's post. What a profound post she made. It gave me goose bumps reading it because it's SO true.

It leads me to so many thoughts about what JWs who have been handed over to satan/Disfellowshipped too. I don't know who feel worse or hang their heads lower? Active JWs or df'd JWs who believe that they are worthless human beings.

Which is another subject.

But I hope all who read this thread take the time to read Lady Lee's post.

I thank you again Will Power, and I thank you Lady Lee if you happen to read this post.

. By extension, I benefit from the new covenant. BY WHAT EXTENSION? Is that extension fellow humans? A Higher Priest than Jesus? You can't have it both ways. Either the ransom ( Jesus' shed blood ) is your extension/mediator to God, or he isn't. There is NO kinda sorta here. Unless you are agreeing with the Wathtower INC's GB. The Bible says that there is only ONE mediator, or extension as you word it. So you either claim to follow the Bible or the Watchtower Society. You can serve two masters if that is what you choose to do, but you'll have a hell of time trying to do so. You'll have to keep it a secret to one, that you are following the other. That is not easy on your soul.

Hi wednesday,

i told my husband about this, and he said "then why do we pray "in jesus name"? He said they did not say that or i must have misundrestood.
A lot of JWS don't really know what the WTS teaches .

I agree that JWs do not know what they are supposed to SAY that their human leaders/WT teach. I've come to the conclusion that for every question you ask them, thee are TWO opposite answers printed by the WTS by there play on words. ONE answer for the public, ONE answer for INSIDERS. That is why the WT teach their own followers to direct interested ones " from INITIAL CONTACT" to the organization, and tell it's own followers that they may be able to locate scriptures, but that's about it. Forget trying to explain their beliefs and backing those beliefs up with scriptures in THEIR OWN WORDS. The WT make sure that their followers STAY in the doublethink/confusion state of mind at all time. And they've been taught NOT TO independently think/think for themselves and make up their own minds on what they believe. That helps me to TRY to understand why they can't explain what they believe. I have talked to one years ago who stated what he believed YEARS ago. Even though his words did NOT GO against Watchtower dogma, he still felt the need to add a discalimer to cover his own butt from the wrath of the Watchtower INC. peace, gwen

So you are saying that Jesus is your mediator in a Non-strict bible sense. Oh. I suppose that next you will show us the scriptures that say that Jesus is a sort of, kind of like mediator angel named Michael.

Ask a JW to describe it and they won't use those two words ( kind and sorta ) but that IS what they are saying. As long as SordofJah says that Jesus is his ONE mediator, and BELIEVES THAT,then I'm happy that that it his or her belief. I'm just sad that he or she can't publicly speak if he were a JW that because he'll be accused of being an apostate of God if he right out said that the GB of the Watchtower Inc./faithful and discreet slave have NO mediatorship between people and God.

And I suppose SwordOfJah would have to expalin the difference between "strict Bible sense" and "non-strict Bible sense".

I'm just happy that he feels Jesus is his ONE mediator and therefore does not NEED to be assoicaited with the Watchtower INC. to render sacred service to God and to pray to God.

i can't ask you all to go make your comments to the JWs because it;s on a DB board that only aol members can get to. This is one time that aol doesn't suck

The key phrase from the quote is: " So in this strict Biblical sense". So my belief stands. I'm gald your belief stands. Because what was published by the Watchtower INC is NOT EVEN IN THE BIBLE SENSE..let alone the strictest. (((((((expat))))))))) aka...banana man Thank you for yet another reference stating that the WT teach that the reamining of the 1444,000, no matter what year and how many reamining are taught to be the mediator between god and man. There is one JW who states that others and I can't keep up with the teachings of the WT. Well.....that alone takes a lot of research! The teaching is THE SAME, just worded differently than it was worded in 1979. ( I wish I could start my life over from that year! ) i can't ask you all to go make your comments to the JWs because it;s on a DB board that only aol members can get to. 16 Israel not only was a kingdom but also had an anointed priesthood. In 33 C.E., the Israel of God replaced fleshly Israel and became Jehovah's "servant," his "witnesses." (Isaiah 43:10) Jehovah's words to Israel recorded at Isaiah 43:21 and Exodus 19:5, 6 henceforth applied to the spiritual Israel of God. God's new spiritual nation was now "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession," responsible for 'declaring abroad Jehovah's excellencies.' (1 Peter 2:9) All in the Israel of God, men and women, form a collective priesthood. (Galatians 3:28, 29) As the subsidiary part of the seed of Abraham, they now say: "Be glad, you nations, with his people." (Deuteronomy 32:43) Those of spiritual Israel still remaining on earth make up "the faithful and discreet slave." (Matthew 24:45-47) Only in association with them can acceptable sacred service be rendered to God.

20 Still, we may ask, Do the Abrahamic covenant and the new covenant involve only these 144,000 faithful souls? No, others who are not directly in these covenants will be blessed through them, as will be seen in the following article.

16. What kind of priesthood is the Israel of God?

19, 20. (a) For those in the new covenant, what final, glorious fulfillment will Jehovah's promise to Abraham have? (b) What further question needs to be considered?

3 For the 144,000, the blessing of the Abrahamic covenant is administered through the new covenant. As participants in this covenant, they come "under undeserved kindness" and "under law toward Christ." (Romans 6:15; 1 Corinthians 9:21) Hence, only the 144,000 members of the Israel of God have properly partaken of the emblems during the Memorial of Jesus' death, and only with them did Jesus make his covenant for a Kingdom. (Luke 22:19, 20, 29) Members of the great crowd are not participants in the new covenant. However, they associate with the Israel of God and live with them in their "land." (Isaiah 66:8) So it is reasonable to say that they too come under Jehovah's undeserved kindness and under the law toward Christ. While not participants in the new covenant, they are beneficiaries of it.

3. How are anointed Christians and other sheep different with regard to the new covenant?Explain how Jesus is your SOLE mediator between you and GOD please...and NOT the "faithful and discreet" slave, which is represented by the GB of the Watchtower society. Is this article not saying that your sacred service to God ( please keep in mind that worshipping God is part of sacred service rendered to God ) isn't even acceptable to God WITHOUT associating with the remaining 144,000 on earth today?

SOLE means ONLY....ONE mediator.

Please explain it to all here the same way you explain it yourselves in your hearts. Word it the same way you do when you justify this to yoursleves.

I hope you believe that Jesus is your ONE mediator and agree that the WBTS are not teaching the TRUTH in these articles. This is clearly a false teaching if you compare it to what Jesus said in the Bible in regards to Him being the ONE mediator between man and God. because if you don't, then when the reaimaing anointed JWs die, you'll have know way to render sacred service to God. And you no longer will be able to recieve God's blessings, seeing as how you do now.... THROUGH THEM, as your leaders published as spiritual food in thier liturature. And the above article says "it's reasonable to say" that you all "come under Jehovah's undeserved kindness and under the law toward Christ" BY ASSOCIATING with the remaining 144,000. NOT THROUGH CHRIST.

I personaly think that it is UNREASONABLE TO SAY.

Has these teachings of the WTS now considered old truth/ old light? Do they now teach that you are under the new covenent/Law of Christ through Christ's shed blood? And not through association with the people who make up the faithful and discreet slave?

Keep in mind that the MEN who make up the "Governing Body of the Watchtower Society INC." REPRESENT the "faithful and discreet" slave.
