the tale of the five officers (2000) by mark.
i. vuletic.
when ms. k. was slowly raped and murdered by a common thug over the course of one hour and 55 minutes, in plain sight of five fully-armed off-duty police officers who ignored her terrified cries for help and instead just looked on until the act was carried to it's gruesome end, i found myself facing a personal crisis.

i'm trying to gather every scripture used to imply that the practice of disfellowshipping among christians is scriptual.
please notice that i did not say "to imply that the "idea" is scriptual, but the "practice".
any input would be of help.
Hi all,
I'm trying to gather every scripture used to imply that the practice of disfellowshipping among Christians is scriptual. Please notice that I did not say "to imply that the "idea" is scriptual, but the "practice". Any input would be of help. I'm trying to find scriptures of mostly Jesus' words, not Paul's, seeing as how a Christian is a follower of Christ.
Thanks,

it has been said to me "what other organization offers a hope of a paradise earth?
" to "prove" that witnesses have the "truth".. it seems to me that this "spiritual materialism" and the inability to see beyond the physical and fleshly world draw many to become and remain witnesses.. as for me, i fail to see such a fleshly reward set out in scripture and more so i cannot possibly see how anything fleshly could live forever in a problem-free environment.. everything fleshly and physical is temporary and changing.

Hi Path and waiting,
I forgot to say, in response to this...
:It has been said to me "What other organization offers a hope of a paradise earth?" to "prove" that Witnesses have the "truth".
that I'm almost 100% sure that Mormons offer the same teaching as far as living forever in paradise here on earth too. They teach the resurrections are to happen after the 1000 yr. reign of Christ, if I'm not mistaken. I'll look into it and make sure that's correct.

Thanks for the welcome and, yes, I'm a newbie here. btw...my hair isn't really orange,(although I know it's common for people to color their hair orange)It's red. I couldn't hide my Irish :-) I don't know why it looks that way in pictures, but it comes out looking orange in every picture! Guess I just have to live with it.

~~~~~~A good way to threaten somebody is to light a stick of dynamite. Then you call the guy and hold the burning fuse up to the phone. "Hear that?" you say. "That's dynamite, baby."~~~~~~~~
Hi Path,
I agree and have the same opinions that you have. Especially this one:
:I believe that the spiritual things as expressed in our relationship with others in how we treat each other and the world around us are things that we are constantly learning until the day we die.
I live my life by Luke 6:37 and the golden rule. I still believe in God and I believe in following Jesus' teachings as best as I can.
I guess it all boils down to we will all probably have to face one judge in the end, and I doubt it will be fellow humans doing the judging.
Some things are just common sense to me.
BT,
You said...,.
:However, just allowing Jesus to show up at the end, just before Armageddon does nothing for the WTS, in terms of his "appointing" them to some position of authority and power over an already established church and congregation...established back during CT Russell's time.
:So...to help facilitate this understanding, the WTS "created" a two (2) stage "coming" of sorts, an (a) and (b) "coming", wherein they call the first one the "invisible [parousia] or presence which occurred in 1914, and the second one...the second "coming" [erchomai] occurs before Armageddon.
:The WTS made it complicated for us….so that they could be different, teach something different…that’s all…distinguish themselves above all of the other religions.
Wait,,,it's not a new angle. The WT perhaps "adopted", and not "created". Have you ever heard of the Darby movement? Have you ever heard the name Margaret McDonald? If not, how about the word "Dispensation" ?
I can't get past the first point of your post! I am trying though.
~~~~~~I think a good product would be "Baby Duck Hat". It's a fake baby duck, which you strap on top of your head. Then you go swimming underwater until you find a mommy duck and her babies, and you join them. Then, all of a sudden, you stand up out of the water and roar like Godzilla. Man, those ducks really take off! Also, Baby Duck Hat is good for parties.~~~~~~
Here is the statement that I thought I copied in my last post but somehow I messed it up. Sorry about that.
:So, now we have considered some 15 examples …but there many more examples that prove that Jesus Christ did indeed, “come” in the first century, true to his promises to the faithful, the first century christians.

BT,
Ater reading your posts, I'm quite confused and so I'll probabaly read them 10 more times to absorb them. I have one question for now though. Are you saying, in your statement that I copied above, that Jesus' second coming already happened and that he came in the flesh "way back when" ?

~~~~~Just because swans mate for life, I don't think its that big a deal. First of all, if you're a swan, you're probably not going to find a swan that looks much better than the one you've got, so why not mate for life?~~~
good afternoon all,.
i was read the 28th chapter of matthew today.
after jesus' disciples saw he was resurrected, he told them that all power in heaven and in earth was given to him.
Frenchy,
No.....Jesus was subservient to his Father while here on earth, as a man, and he still is. God GAVE his son as a ransom so that we may be forgiven our sins. After Jesus was resurrected, he told his disciples that he was given ALL power/authority in the heavens and the earth. Therefore, he was telling them that they must be subserviant to him now. That was the main teaching that Paul preached in the Corinthians too. I take it very seriously. It is God's will that we be subserviant to his son, Jesus Christ. If my own father gave me power over all that was his, does that mean that I no longer had to be subserviant to him, as my father? No...it wouldn't. Does that mean that he would have to be subserviant to me? No...it doesn't. That is why I still pray to God, but through his son.
That's the best way I can explain what I believe.
:Somebody,
Is God and Jesus one in the same? Or, as the WTS teaches, are God and Jesus two separate and distinct individuals?
There it is !!..the dreaded question! :-)
I believe that God and Jesus are separate. It gets very complicated and I start getting very confused because some scriptures I read make it seem that they are 1, and some scriptures I read make it seem that they are separate. I still belive that they are 2. Father and Son.
~~~~Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.~~~~
