  the very first scripture cited under the "sharing on a judicial committee" in the elders book is duet.

  1:16. here are a million questions!

  how do members let the higher -ups use a scripture from the ot where moses was speaking to isreal, and completely disregard jesus' words?

  Thank you everybody for helping me get through my frustrating day yesterday. I appreciate it and it's nice to know that so many people care about those being hurt, have been hurt, and are still hurting.

  mommy, I do feel better today. ( I still feel the same about the WBTS putting lies on their site to make themselves look like christians to the media though. ) Thank you for your offer to e-mail you.   i'am dannybear i have been lurking around here from time to time, for the last several weeks.

  this forum seems to be a friendly group, not to mention i see jt, englishman, focus, waiting and few others that are very familiar to me from h20.. i live in california.

  i was raised as a jw (third generation), got the unceremonious 'boot'(df)in 1980-81 been so long..i can't remember the actual date.

  welcome, zev :-) glad to see you here! {{{{HUGS}}}} We try to play nice here most of the time, but as you'll see, emotions run high sometimes. very understandable. I'm glad you care enough and that you'll speak out if you see something wrong going on and anyone trying to cover things up in your congregation.

  Married, but....

  today is valentine's day...a day to share with your partner.

  today is bittersweet for me.. my husband is a wonderful man....intelligent, a gifted musician, kind, handsome....and an alcoholic.

  he spent the day drinking, and i spent my valentine's day evening eating supper alone in front of the tv.. tomorrow is my birthday.

  You live through so much pain. I can't say that I know what it's like loveing a man who is an alocolic in the way that you do. But I can only imagine how hard it must be. Probably the mixture of love and pain, get to you. Have you ever thought about showing him what you posted? When he is sober? Maybe that'll make him SEE what you FEEL. It's just a suggestion.

  Happy belated birthday to you! I know that that probably doesn't help you much, but it does come from the heart. Someday, your husband will see how much you love him. I just know he will, and I hope it's not too late by then. You're a great person!

  Thank you for understanding and being able to see my concern in my posts. I will look up some more info on control and all the steps to it.., and you are right. I DO have something and some people on my mind related to the WT. I have a close friend who has 2 little children, who only thinks about how bad the world is and is afraid to let her kids grow up! I can't even begin to tell her ANYTHING about life, wether it's here now and ends tomorrow, or goes on for another 50 years. She still has no clue how to let her children live and grow, spiritually or any other way. I feel bad for her, and the children she is trying to raise.

  Dear waiting! I'm so glad you posted this! somehow, I missed it on H20. Although I don't agree with some of it, it speaks volumes to me. no matter what kind of rape is talked about, it's still about conrtol. Force is force, and assault is assault. I can't believe nobody commented on this.

  I'm printing and saving this post and I thank you again for posting it here.
