I've created a new post listing my reasons as to why the August Study Edition should be no big deal. It will probably be released soon in the next month, with some disappointing information on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, no new light I imagine. Slightly 'modified' light maybe.

The August Study Watchtower: what is the big deal?
by ukpimo ini have been following a number of posts discussing the august watchtower study magazine.
i really don't believe this common idea being passed around that it's being timed for the annual meeting.
here's why.. the august watchtower will be available on servers not long before its public release.

I have been following a number of posts discussing the August Watchtower study magazine. I really don't believe this common idea being passed around that it's being timed for the Annual Meeting.
Here's why.
The August Watchtower will be available on servers not long before its public release. Additionally, we are still over 3 months away from the Annual Meeting. The Organization isn't going to wait 3 months leading up to the release of the December Study Edition without too many PIMI JWs whining and begging to see the August Watchtower.
The Annual Meeting this year will be held on 5th October. So you mean to say that all Sunday meetings will come to a halt that weekend because there is no study article? Will there instead be a live message from WHQ to be broadcast over that weekend with a strangely timed immediate release of the digital Watchtower? I don't believe that would ever happen, it wouldn't work logistically.
This Watchtower we are waiting for will be out soon, simply put, in the same fashion as Armageddon!
So to all who are speculating, just stop speculating! It probably does have unique information. It's probably just not anything that's actually to be discussed at the Annual Meeting.
I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong!

If Watchtower is reading this, get your act together and order a shutdown of the JWTalk forum, as this link and code leaked from there.

Governing Body Update contents:
Convention report
Report about those in prison
There will be no nulite or special announcements as someone has speculated. I'm opting into the idea any more changes would happen at the Annual Meeting. The Governing Body knew they made too many changes in such a short space of time. So a plan of changing up things within the next few years doesn't seem so improbable after all.

The August 2024 Watchtower controversy and potential further changes
by ukpimo inas an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

JWtalk.net is an act of Disobedience
by Londo111 inthe governing body and watchtower publications make clear there is only one official website that jws should go to about their religion.
they do not approve of independent pro-jw forums.
this would also fall in line of there being no independent study groups, on the internet, or elsewhere.. for that matter, they do not approve of jws posting on behalf of their religion on social media, “apostate” websites, or anywhere else on the internet.

And when you leak this information publicly on such a platform, this should call for mass reproval and disfellowshippings. Their website is definitely going against what the Faithful Slave teaches! When will the Governing Body react and initiate a closing down of this website JWtalk?

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

I am inclined to fully believe the recent "insider" information that came out, this news that Tony left because of a disagreement over changes. And if it was to do with health reasons or a drunken moment, even that would make sense.
Imagine this:
Tony has been having health issues (anxiety, depression, PTSD, or whatever) which have been aggravated and he's finding it difficult to agree with proposals by the Governing Body, he has to think of a way to leave the Body quietly so he voluntarily confesses his drinking problem which results in a private reproval. This is a theory, but it seems feasible, why?
Because we've heard bits and pieces of information that seems to conflict from a variety of sources:
"his daughter-in-law revealed his drinking problem"
Could be true, maybe she was one of 2 witnesses!
"Tony didn't agree with the recent changes, and this was hinted by Jeff Winder's message at the annual meeting that the 'Governing Body must be unanimous for New Light to come out' "
Again, logical.
"Tony had to come off because of health reasons"
Could be true also, the PTSD flashbacks of his experience in the Vietnam war could has interfered with how he handled his assignments and decision making abilities.
Here we have an example of a removal that could have happened for several reasons. This isn't unusual in JW land, usually details of judicial matters are less straightforward for elders than many may think.
Here is another theory, could it be that all of these theories are linked and are true, and yet what really prompted his removal was this:
Tony had been chatting up underage girls online and sexting them.
Now, this is a disgusting and horrific idea I could have. However, as we know from past experience when a Governing Body member does anything inappropriate with minors, then everything is hush hush and swept right under the rug!
And you know something? Maybe that's why we'll truly never know the real reason. Because if Tony engaged in a criminal act and the Organization wants no association with him then they'll do anything to scrub his involvement with them off their records and throw him "to the dogs" in the world of mankind alienated from God!!!

Are the halls of the Kingdom filling up, are they the same as before the pandemic or are they emptying?
by LaFrancia ini open a new topic, to find out how it's going in your area.
from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.
no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.

Where I'm based, the Kingdom Hall is nearly full on Sundays for every congregation that meets at the Hall. On midweek meeting days, only half the congregations generally meet, unless people have assignments lots tend to opt into the Zoom link up. It appears that most have more zeal for the meetings than ministry, as there is an average of 3 people out most groups in every congregation where I live. The waters are drying up. Tick your box, be a cool enough witness and everyone thinks you're ok. It's not good. The Governing Body have long lost their control and the only way to regain it is to reform to a more familial atmosphere as it was in the 1960s and 1970s, without the stereotypical overly righteous 'spiritually strong' brothers and sisters micromanaging the congregation. The influx of new believers who are dreadfully weak spiritually as well as the major shift from a deep and studious biblical Organization to a "get baptised quick and be loyal to the Organization" type of Organization has proven that the current Governing Body have killed the standard their forebears kept up for decades, all of Freddie Franz's teachings have virtually been eliminated except for a few remaining nods to the past.
The lame excuse "oh, society has changed now, no one wants to read books anymore" is pathetic. If they don't want to read, teach them how to do so and make them enjoy it! The travesty of today's society is reliance on quick reads through internet pages. It's destroyed our comprehension and learning skills, and always being on comment forums like this spoils in-person communication skills. Society is indeed to blame, but the only way to combat it is not to reform and become just like them, instead the public needs to be re-educated to become students of the Bible if they so wish. And if they refuse, then JWs have at least made an effort to provide the practical skills needed for people to studiously read comprehensive material. However, it seems that over-simplification is the norm for today's Governing Body. Too bad for them.
