simon i'm sorry i don't mean to rain on your parade but you have to remember the society and your local elders watch for stuff like that.

this is a very liberal board as far as discussions go and forever thankful for that, but you have to be careful because you could face a jd meeting.

i'm sure everyone is well aware that some posts on this board just wouldn't go over to well with the society.

I Need advice on Women.

okay, here is a few questions concerning women that i would like a little help with.. supposing your trying to get some lady's attention because your interested in her, what is a good approach without sounding to cheesy?

another question is how do you know and what are the indications that the girl is taking interest in you, and what are the indications she wants you to take a hike?

What about new light?

i just wanted to ask a question concerning the expression," new light," whenever the brothers and sisters are talking and when we suddenly see a new point in the watchtower or a new teaching from the society as far as our beliefs such as the change in doctrine like the generation teaching.

is it really accurate to say new light or just plain and simple error ?.

you see i grew up as a catholic and before i became a witness we considered our church and the pope as god's representative.

Writing private letters to the Society.

for anyone who's ever written something of a private nature or asked clarification on certain beliefs have you ever had the unfortunate experience of the elders calling you in the back room or a sheperding call ?.

the reason i bring this out is that newer brothers or sisters don't know that everytime you write the society the society sends a copy of your letter to your local cong.

how many here still believe the organization is ahead of any other religion as far as teaching truth from the bible despite some of the wrong teachings that we perhaps have???.

i will be the first to answer in saying, i still believe we are ahead of any other religion for the present but it can change.

only time will tell wether the organization wants to adjust to some of their mistaken chronology and teachings.

Women's lust for a power man but not always????

one of the things that impresses me most about the bible is the bible book of the song of solomon.. it has always been my experience as a man to know that women are attracted to powerful and influential men according to their domain.. .

let me explain, being in the organization ,single sisters are often admonished to make their prize catch an elder or ministerial servant if they are considering marriage.. well unfortunately i have to disagree with that kind of thinking as i have come across outstanding brothers who reflect god's spirit to a great extent without them being appointed in the cong.

as ms or elder.. when looking at the world in general, we see that to a great extent the wordly spirit, as regards our topic of discussion, that beautiful women go for so called highly placed ones in society such as lawyer's, doctor's, or business men...or the affluent.... one of the big mistakes being made here is, true love is often left out for the material advantages to the detriment of some marriages.

i would just like to point out that when i first bought my computer and connected to the internet, the first words i typed in my browser were jehovah, jehovah's witnesses, watchtower.... i must say, i was quite amazed to see so many websites that were for and against us.

my curiosity got the better of me and started reading sites such as watchtower.org ,witnesses.net,watchtower observer, h20, freeminds...ect.. did it bother me to read opposing materials or websites?

as i mentioned in another thread i have spent many years training myself a conscience trained to what the bible and the society's publication have encouraged us to do.. again coming back to the question, did it bother me reading all this opposing stuff?

( john 18:37-38 ).. how would you answer the question according to what we know from the bibles definition, and how the faithful and discreet slave have endeavored to give us spiritual food at the proper time?.
