i know i asked this absolutely yonks back, then by the name of celtic, but with so many newcomers here i thought no harm but to ask once again.. how many artists do we have here or working in art related fields including film, music, theatre, environment, gardening, sculpture, graphic design, illustration, fine art, photograpy etc etc?.
what hobbies do you have?
how do you see your future artistic horizons opening up?

In fact the only reason I even posted to this thread to begin with was because I thought it was in response to a posting where I said that we should go door-to-door (half-joking mind you).
Unknowingly I have engaged in a half-assed battle where my opponate (spelling?) is soo brainwashed that if the WTTS said that the sun blue they would indeed agree.
Of coarse now I am almost tempted to go to the doors just for the sake of argument....lol...better stop now before I get carried away.

I saw this one before and I chose number 2 and would do so again.
I think it was the corrupt politicians that kept me from picking number 1. Not to mention that he who finds joy in the scotch well..is ok in my book too.

If you all think that jws are such a bad cult that brainwashes people, why not warn people of the danger? I think that Moonies are a dangerous cult. I go out and warn people about such cults. For me, there is nothing better to do than save souls.
I for one let those around me learn by my example (hmm..bible teaching isn't it). Also more important than savings souls is the right let others make up their own mind. If I were to try to force my own opinion on other it ultimately ends up doing the opposite. Take me for example. It was forced upon me and I pushed it away with all my might.
The warnings are all there....some just refuse to look at them. it is the same old adage that you cannot change a person unless they want to change. This site is snother example....when someone wants info on the dubs...they come here and we don't ever tell them what to do. We only give them more information from our own experiences in order for them to make a more informed and yes their OWN choice.
It all comes down to choice!!!
When was the last time a JW ever gave all info for a completely informed choice. Umm never...they just brainwash and control.

When i posted about going door-to-door after the JW's, I did not intend to mean in a negative manner. I think that ones even with "gods spirit or direction" telling people they are goind to die unless they change is alot more negatively charged than with someone telling you hey its ok to have your own thoughts and live your own life. You are not going to "be destroyed in Armageddon" if you dont attend organized meetings 5 times a week.
In fact I think it would be interesting if some did that. Maybe more people would have their eyes open to the reality of what the trOOf really is.
I saw it posted on another thread that "wordly" people were impressed by the unity of the dubs. Now what if another group not only had the unity but a much brighter message. I for one would be more apt to listen any day.
But the main reason I probably wouldn't myself is quite frankly said well here:
because we actually have lives and better things to do

I write poetry & songs, play bass, didgeridoo and am learning guitar.
I also am handy in the crafts dept and cooking (as a friend once said its in the presentation)

i cant help but smile when my wife laughs, or when my kids play outside.
i also smile when my boy, who is 15 wants to talk to me.
The simple things make me smile. My kitten is a top reason I smile (hes so darn cute when he is not bitingme..lol). Music makes me smile...as well as creating music. Writing makes me smile. Smiling makes me smile
Not to mention .....err.....well.....you know..... makes me smile

a born-into-it teenager or maybe someone in their early 20's, gets df'd for an unspecified offence.
later the df'd person protests that df'ing is unscriptural and inhumane, only to be told "you knew the score, you knew what would happen, it's your fault".. but is it?
maybe it might be fairer for a converted person to be df'd for breaking the rules, after all, a converted person has joined the jw's willingly and has therefore accepted the witness rules.
The trick for a JW born into the religion is to never get baptized. Stall, avoid, delay, act out a little is necessary ... but never take the fatel trip to do the dip ... never go through the 227 Questions. Then technically, a non-baptized JW cannot be DF'd or DA'd ... and the last I checked they are not to be shunned.
That would be my story....I stalled and avoided....and acted out big time. Never got baptised. I cannot be DF'd and the member do speak with me if they see me out and about. I have been shunned by a handful maybe but all in all they don't treat me that badly.

I think that you are never given the choice if you are born into it. My parents did not give up on forcing it down my throat until I was 18. Now they sorta kinda accept that I am not one and probably never will be. Its only on occassion that my mother or sister tries to give me a mag. BTW - my parents just had a 3 day assembly and of coarse my mother had to show me the new releases. They have 2 new books and a brochure. I will get the names if anyone is interested.
