the australian govt has set out a survey to see if people are in favour of changing the marriage act to include same sex couples.. hm here have received their papers?
the survey promises to be anonymous but has a substantial bar code at the bottom... anonymous yeah right.. the marriage act once said "two people" then a previous prime minister changed it to say "man and woman" all that is needed to amend this situation as required by the gay community is change it back again to "two people" there, done and dusted.. and millions of dollars need not be wasted on this survey which is not compulsory as is voting in australia.
can anyone here who still goes to kh tell us if this has had a ruling from the platform?.
I haven't heard anything announced at the KH about the voting. My dad took my form though and chucked it in the fire. His reasoning is that we dont get involved in the controversies of the world.

after 33 years as a jw and leaving 25 years ago i think prayer can be summed up with the jews praying at the wailing wall.. all they are doing is talking to a brick wall ,and getting no feed back.
and they expect an answer to their prayers ?!.
christians /other beliefs might find that funny but they are no better off.. prayer is always a one way street you talk either vocally or mentally to god however you never get the same back .. if god " so loved the world that he doesnt want any to be destroyed but have everlasting life " then whats the problem with him audibly answering his servants prayers ?
I remember being told you have to work in harmony with your pray. So basically you help god answer your own pray.🙄

Good question...For some reason, I think talking to ones self helps relieve stress and improves a persons mood.
When you think your talking to God, you believe someone is listening to you and does care and loves you. It gives you more meaning that your talking to god not just yourself.
If its real that god is listening or not I do not know.

the chest-bursting scene is still great to watch, no matter how many times i've seen the movie.
I just watched Dead Pool was quite entertaining.

there is usually a metamorphosis that takes place for a person to leave the jehovah's witness religion.
most people do not just up and go simply because they realize this could not be the truth.
it often takes time.. for those that go to meetings or engage in the ministry, will you forever continue doing these things, knowing that it is all bs?
I'm in the process of fading but I go along for my families sake. I've been threatened to be kicked out of the house and can't survive on my own just yet. My parents also threaten to kick me out of the inheritance will and give it all too the organisation. So, I feel I should stay around for that as well, because I would hate to see it go to the org.
I also love my parents and don't want to see them hurt as well.
