Like others, I had doubts, but didn't do any research. Ultimately my search was inward, and it was a very deep searching of my feelings. My feelings told me something was wrong and it was time to quit pretending.

Elders son is GAY!!!

just looked up my old high school in classmates.com, i saw this dude who was a couple years older than me, didn't really know him but i knew his brother (who left the org the same time i did), his dad kicked him out of the house and he lived in his car, they are sons of one of the elders (assholes) who df'd my dad.
the good son was a good little jw that did everything a jw father (elder) would want his son to do, on his bio on classmates.com he says that he is gay, ha ha ha ha.

Another lawsuit... this one in Oregon.
by Elsewhere incomplaint: negligence, breach of confidential relationship, intentional infliction of severe emotional distress.
once again the elders appointed a convicted and confessed child molester to a position of responsibility as an officer and ministerial servant of the congregation.
this time the accused name is jerry anderson crabb of the lancaster congregation of jehovah's witnesses - 4795 macleay road se, salem, or 97301. sadly, as one would expect, he has been accused of sexually abusing a child on multiple occasions.

Send New Tract to Gay Groups
by metatron inthe society's new tract should be sent to all gay and lesbian groups, warning them about a door to door message that denigrates them.. i would especially target local groups in convention cities in which large gay communities exist.
the tract deserves one simple reply:.
"doesn't false prophecy identify false religion?".

Perhaps they wish he was dead.
I think that many JWs wish that their gay family members were dead. They hope they will contract AIDS and die a slow lingering death for having left the "Truth" and not following the Watchtower's rules. They believe that AIDS is Jehovah's punishment of gay people. They think that all people who "turn gay" will become depraved, diseased souls enslaved to their lusts like a drug addict to heroin.
I also think that it may be convenient for many families to have to shun the GLBT family member. Then they can treat the person like they were dead and never have to face their extreme homophobia and prejudice. These pious hypocrites can write them off and justifiable shirk their responsibility in the matter. If they abused the family member as a child, so much the better that this person is out of their life where they never have to face up to their complicity in the whole sordid mess. Yeah, real convenient that shunning, isn't it?

Moving on...
by Zico ini've been reading this board regularly since it was introduced to me in march of this year.
at first, i was finding it pretty difficult coming to terms with the fact that my whole life had been a lie, but really, i suppose there's not much point in worrying about this now, what's done is done, and i'm still easily young enough to make a life in 'the world' despite a slow start.
the problem is that i have no idea how to go about.

No Trespassing!! Breaking news for local JW's.
by Mulan inthis week at the book study, at all congregations in the u.s., a letter was read saying if you go to a house or property with a "no trespassing" sign, you must not enter, or knock on the door.
you have to leave immediately.
a sign saying "no solicitors" is too ambiguous, and they are to use their own judgment, and don't have to knock.

"No Jehovah's Witnesses"
I won't put up such a sign for several reasons.
- My family members are Jehovah's Witnesses, and I don't want to discourage them from coming to see me any more than they already are.
- There are Jehovah's Witnesses who may remember that I used to be one and come looking for me to talk about their doubts.
- It is their responsibility to keep their members away from apostates, not mine. If they can't keep their "Do Not Call" lists updated, then I will gladly talk to the unwary publisher who happens by my door. I have a lot to say, if they want to listen. Even if they don't listen then, they know where to come back to talk about their doubts.
I don't preach anymore, but if someone comes to me to ask me about what I know, I will gladly tell them.
