Lied and lied and lied, and lied some more. Part of the reason I was kicked out of Bethel; I felt so much guilt piled up on my shoulders that I "approached the elders" about it. When I was a regular pioneer, I'd be surprised if I actually ever got more than 30 hours in a month, but I was counting something close to 90 every month... (Recently, when I started to hang around w/ some other XJW's, it was an odd kind of relief to hear one friend say, "Oh, Mike, EVERYONE did that!!")

Ever lie on your service reports?
by The_Bad_Seed in*laughing just thinking about it*.
did anybody out there lie on their service reports that they maintained the 'national average' when in reality you got .005 hours of service in any given month?
i magically always used to always get "10" hours out in service, while nobody ever saw me at the groups, no one ever caught on, or seemed not to -- maybe they just didn't give a shit.. i always lied so i could keep my microphone 'privelidges' -- that being, the privelidge to walk around at the back of the hall giving my deflated ass a break from those awful chairs they had.

LOL, Shadoo (I think that's how it was spelled) was a dragon. Animal Mystic was a gunslinging, martial-arts-using babe who travelled to the jungle to kick the asses of some people despoiling the environment... and ended up traveling to another dimension.

Where are the Masculine Men?
by teenyuck infourskin started a battle of the sexes with his "where are the feminine women" thread.
i am wondering about men.
he has a muscle car, however, he has no muscle definition.

I don't know about any of this feminine/masculine sh-tuff. To thine own self be true; that's what's really attractive (in either gender, I would guess, but I don't pretend to understand what women find attractive about us men in the first place).

Why are people racist?
by MrMoe insomething on the song thread that i posted, song by tu pac, got me to thinking about racisim.
why do people discriminate against people that have different color skin?
i understand it is a learned response, but my "elder" father is very racist... and this is how i was raised.. i don't get it.

Well, this is just a subjective, aesthetic opinion, but I've always thought that children of "mixed" marriages were the most beautiful I've ever seen... Nothing to back this up with, just that I've always thought humans w/ mixed characteristics of 2 or more "races" end up being the most strikingly beautiful... The "usual" black, white, asian, etc features by themselves don't have quite the same effect... Not that anyone's features should have a certain effect... Just saying, that's all

Governing Body Poll
by Mister Biggs inwhich people or characters remind you most of the governing body?.
a) statler and waldorf from 'the muppet show' .
b) the three stooges.

Carey Barber is a dead ringer for the muppet on the left (minus the moustache), and Dan Sydlik is most certainly the Grumpy Old Man on the right (if you add the demonic living eyebrows).

Duck, I think the whole problem there is the govt's focus on "affirmative action" as defined by race. I agree with MrMoe's observations when it comes to this issue: Skin color, country of origin, etc, should have absolutely no impact on whether you're considered for governmental assistance (financial, college, etc). This has become a really stupid issue in this country; the obvious conclusion is to disregard "race" altogether and provide assistance for those who need it. IE if you can't afford to get into a certain school and yet can pass the tests, you should damn well get into that school. The end result would be that most of those getting assistance would be those in "minority" groups that have historically been held back, but at the same time our "beloved" right-wing fringe wouldn't be able to complain, because any poor whites that passed the tests would also qualify.
Sometimes I think the solution is just beyond us for the time being... I forget the name of the movie, the one where the Congressman suffers a breakdown and can't help but be real, and tell the truth about anything & everything... (I am a total culture dweeb; the actor is super-famous, but I can't even remember his name)... Anyway, at one point he basically says that the solution to the race issue is for everyone to interbreed until we can't tell the difference between one "race" and another... Well, dammit, it's funny because it's true. If there ever was such a thing in the first place, how many "pure white" folks will there be in 100 years? Racism is doomed, because the world is becoming ever more interconnected. The "races" as we know them today will be a thing of the past before long, and good riddance.

Whitehawk? Who is Whitehawk?
by Francois inanybody else getting email from some character calling himself whitehawk?
i started getting unsolicited email from this clown this morning.
claims he's a jw.

Oddly enough, Francois, right after Simon's post about a JW e-mail, I noticed that I had a "KnightHawk" on my contact list... I noticed that someone on that thread referred to the JW as Whitehawk, or something similar. I have no recollection of ever corresponding w/ a KnightHawk, so I just deleted the contact info. (If this is someone here that I spoke w/, and I'm spacing out, apologies... It just seemed damn peculiar at the time)...

...and fear. Fear of finding out that what you were taught is wrong, and fear of growth. The really sad thing, I find, is that when confronted the racist will usually spew out all sorts of "arguments" and "proof" that their view is correct. I don't think the problem originates in hatred; I think it originates in a history of ignorance, coupled with a fear of growth, the unknown, and change, which have led to hatred when put all together. I think the hatred is a mask for the fear. It's pathetic, I agree.
