No good at this kind of writing, my boots. Your story is touching on many levels. I think that we have discussed this before, but what is it you do now / went to college for? From the perspective of one who also turned down college because "Armageddon is just around the corner" and is now thinking about college, I would love to hear your reply.

Tiring of Anti-JW causes?
by ashitaka ini'm kind of burnt out from being pissed off at jws.
tonight, while talking to a friend who left at the same time i did (several years ago), we both spoke of our apathy towards the whole anti-witness movement.
recently i helped in several anti-jw actions, and i thought i made a difference, although it was a pittens compared to others who have come before.

Suddenly, I was struck by the novelty of the idea: 'I think for myself!' But this same epiphany has happened many times already, always in a different time or place.
Cellomould, thank you for that post! I truly appreciated this... Ashitaka, this is one of the reasons why I, for one, am still here. Somone posting something out of the blue that I remember experiencing or thinking myself... Who knows, maybe I have done the same for someone else. Whether I have or not, though, and whether I ever do or not, I think this is a fun place. Deprogramming is fun. Poking fun at Bleep is fun

Let's play Un-Theocratic Ministry School
by Mindchild ini thought it would be a nice break from things to have a little fun and at the same time fine tune our jw repellant skills.
so it is time for another round of un-theocratic ministry school.
for this presentation my fine ex-jw friends, we will play door to door games with dubs.

(Oh, and my favorite of all time... Working with Brother Not-So-Strong-In-The-Truth, who was an absolute riot to be around, and no less so in field service... One day we were working one of the richer territories, cutting up from door to door as per usual... It was "my turn," so I rang the doorbell, and THEN he let loose with a muffled, drawn-out fart; I mean it lasted for a good 3 seconds at least. And then there was a brief "poot" that followed. Well, we were already laughing, and then he said, "That was the period at the end of the sentence." A maid came to the door almost right after that, and we were both chortling and trying to hold it in... I had to apologize & say that my friend had just told me a joke. Needless to say, that "call" didn't last very long )

Yeah, I do remember thinking about which houses we'd like to take over after Armageddon... My favorite, though, was the coffee breaks, like Scully mentioned... One thing about New Orleans is good coffee & pastries And then there was the occasional day when all the pioneers would say (not in these words) "I've had enough!" and declare a big eat-out lunch w/ margaritas and no more witnessing for the day

JWs Ranked by Babylon the Great
by Amazing inone of the watchtower mantras when i became a jw was that the churches of christendom, aka part of babylon the great, were drying up according to revelation ... and that just a few little old men and ladies were attending her sunday service ... whereas the jw religion was supposed to be the fastest growing religion deep in the time of the end ... .
here, now for 2001are the statistics, as published by the national council of churches ... so we can see how, 30 years later, christendom (babylon baby) compares to the most holy and pure jehovah witnesses ... .
4. the church of god in christ 5,499,875 (3.64 percent) .

Thanks, Amazing... And, yeah, I was thinking the same thing: No matter how fast the dubs GROW, that is baptize more people, they continue hemhorraging publishers for one reason or another... So their actual growth remains very low...

I am one guy or one source of information
You say this, Bleep, as a defense on the matter of passing up a lot of the questions that are put to you. And yet you are constantly posting all kinds of questions. When people answer you, and then respond with another question, you run away to another thread and ask another question. Well, if you don't want everyone who reads your threads to think that you are simply unable to back up your views, I would suggest that you limit the number of questions you ask, the number of discussions you start, to something that you can handle!
Q: Why does Bleep post lots and lots of questions, fully expecting answers, and yet refuse to answer so many good questions put to him?
A: Bleep is a troll who either A) just wants to stir people up, or B) really wants to expose apostates as being wrong but unfortunately he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Here you go, Bleep; this is a serious contribution:
What really irritates me about this particular "poll" is this:
My poll might be a little more accurate. Notice how I raised the question first? You can't have a poll without a multiple choice question.
Then you can't have a poll about God. The "results" of your "poll" show that almost no one accepted any of your multiple choices as being relevant to a definition of God. That is the TRUE result of your poll. But you have kept it all going as though it were a serious affair.
Which no one has any business doing for anyone else. This God poll is from a few people who took the time out of life to explain to us what God is.
