"Hello there! We are volunteers in the area, and we've been talking to people in this neighbourhood about God's Word, the Bible."
"Oh, you want to talk about the Bible?"
"Yes, sir."
"Ok. What would you like to know?"

your qualifications are way above mine so i'd love to hear more about the specifics of what you have researched and how that supports the existence of a deity.
k99, i am not really convinced that you're interested in my conclusions.
in nature amino acids formed to then form dna.
i was compelled to ask this question because i have seen several of the youtube videos on jcs.
on striking similarity among all these videos is that most of the people bringing the arguments to the elders are pretty much atheists or have turned to another religion altogether.. i can easily see that the common concern in most of the people involved, is their ability to keep in touch with family and friends, which by all means would be my concern as well, when and if i ever end up in one.. however, i can't help but to notice something.
it is difficult enough to think of the day that the wt would accept a loose canon in their ranks, let alone someone who openly claims to no longer believe in god.

rebel8 - I was forced to attend by my parent, with my only other choice being homelessness.
I don't get those types of people. What the heck is wrong with those fools? Evidently, some parents forgot the definition of the word 'parent.'
I guess the only reason to believe in God, in my case, would be to hope that those idiots would finally get some kind of revenge. Eternal fire in hell would be nice. Yeah, I know. I'm not a good person because I wish bad people would suffer.
was talking to a good buddy of mine a couple days ago (we pioneered and were in bethel together and have both left the cult a few years ago), about the current cart and d. and the consensus was that it is now a complete joke.
was watching a couple witnesses last week sit at a table with their literature display.
no approaching people for conversation, no initiating stimulating dialogue with passerbys, as was encouraged when i "pioneered" back in the day.
nonjwspouse - I also see more Mormons going d2d than JW. I can count on one hand the JWs I have seen going d2d in the last 10 years.
This is strange, from my perspective. I have never in my whole life seen a single Mormon preaching from door to door. I am serious. I have never ever seen a preaching Mormon. I have seen other Christian denominations leaving brochures at doors but also extremely rarely. When it comes to Jehovah's Witnesses, however, I do see them witnessing from time to time.
Nakanozzi, I can't say anything about that. I haven't been to a Kingdom Hall in a few months, and I'm not planning on attending. I haven't heard anything about Pokemon from local Witnesses. But here where I live, they tend to be more reasonable, so I don't think there'd be any problem. But children would be the only ones to actually care, I'm guessing.
Nonetheless, it'd be funny to hear them condemn Pokemon.
Yeah, I heard him say that... That was ridiculous... And to think now some Witnesses—because I do hope not most of them—will follow that absurd notion.

stuckinarut2 - "recognise"
Wasn't sure if Brits really spelled "recognize" "recognise." I'll have to change my way of truth.
stukinarut2 - Can you imagine witnesses chasing pokemon while out in service??!!
I would love to see that! And Witnesses condemning the Pokemon? That'd be too fun to watch and see, especially if it were Stephen Lett or Tony Morris Tight Pants to say that... Oh, and the kids... The kids... They'd be miserable.
Governing Body, don't even dare fight the kids...
so real quick, i know this comes up now and then and i've looked over some of the posts from the past but here's the thing.. when i was a jw i drank all the cool aid, i was 100% and so i have all my own arguments (from the jw's) for why the bible is inspired.
i no longer believe this but i'd really like to read something that is pretty much 100% academic on this subject.
i want to read what scholars have to say about the authenticity of the bible and it's claim at being the inspired word of god.
Sorry to be the one to say it... but the Bible is God's Word. It's all true. Everybody knows it.
And Jesus is God.
In John 15.5, he himself says,
I am the vine; you are the branches.
