I see. If I may ask, where did you learn about the Illuminati? It isn't stuff the Watchtower teaches.

It's Time to Dump the Hebrew Scriptures.
by smmcroberts inwhy do christian religions continue to pretend that the hebrew scriptures (aka the old testament) is god-inspired and that it describes a loving god?
don't they see that the ot is largely an embarrassment to its believers?
please read my blog to see why i think christianity should dispense with the ot all together:.

Never a JW, the outcome of every single revolution (against the Church) in history resulted in total depravity, debauchery, and murder. Why is that? Do you have some sort of sugar-glossed recollection of the French revolution?

Temple, I hope to see more of your exposés.
I am curious, though, are you an exJW or a JW reformer?

Is CoC out of print?
by AK - Jeff intoday i was looking for my copy of coc, and unfortunately it has come up missing in action.
perhaps i lent it to someone and forgot to whom.
whatever the reason, i began an online search for a copy to replace mine - and lo and behold, the copies i found available were priced from $35 or higher, and those places that advertised it at a lesser cost had it marked 'unavailable'.. i am not worried about replacing my copy - i have read it several times.

Reading digital books is lame. There are too many distractions in an electronic environment. If you want to get immersed and fully take in a book, buy a real book and sit in a quiet room to read.

How is creationism DISPROVED?
by sabastious init is disproven.
but let's start another thread, because this one is being yanked off track again.
creationism/evolution always deserves its own thread.

Finkelstein said:
"If you were to make a compressed short answer to how creationism is disproved, you could
say all the known Sciences combined together to come to this conclusion.
Genetic organic biology, the geology of the earth and its apparent ever changing evolution, Astronomy to name a few. "
First you need to establish whether there is consensus among scientists that God doesn't exist. Then, and only then, can you rely on science as your crutch.

Why are atheists so intent on scorning "believers"?
by Chariklo inuntil recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.

Chariklo, the ironic thing is, in this particular situation, religionists, specifically Christians, are often accused of using circular reasoning. For example, Christians will be accused of using the "because God said so" fallacy. But atheists are completely immune from using fallacies, apparently. It's obvious that both Christians and atheists are guilty of, at times, using logical fallcies. Hopefully we can move on and answer direct questions without evasiveness.

Chariklo, like when I posted my sincere question, the atheists would isolate something irrelevant in my post and ask a question about it so as to divert from answering. A person is forced to post a question without adding any commentary or unecessary details. But even then, they will focus on one word in the question and try to steer the debate over it. Round and round we go.
X: Why is the sky blue?
Y: Does blue necessarily refer to sky?
X: Why is the sky blue? Please answer my sincere question
Y: How does one define "sincere"?
X: Last time, why is the sky blue?
Y: I don't have time for fruitless philosophical debates.

Girls are unpredictable, materialist, and use us, men, as a toy.
by will-be-apostate inwell, it seems like i am going to ruin the domination of raypublishers' topic at this section of the board.
:d. now back to the topic.
the last month i was trying to get "closer" to my classmates and to the others from my highschool.

I don't think offering promiscuity is a viable solution to Will-be-apostate's predicament. It is as empty an unfulfilling as lonlieness itself.
