Question for atheists/agnostics: without a standard like that presented by theism, how does one determine rationale/reason, or is it even necessary? Is it all relative to the individual?

Why are atheists so intent on scorning "believers"?
by Chariklo inuntil recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.

Christ Alone, understandable, but "fashion" statements aren't at random and don't come out of a vacuum...especially when those who get to make the statements are disturbed and malicious. While the symbols may not mean anything to the average person, or they appear to mean something seemingly benign, the opposite is usually true in the occult world.

Yeah, it's called persuasion. And rather than the scorner having a sincere desire to show the dumb theist the err of his repressive beliefs, the scorner likely seeks confirmation of his/her own beliefs in the victim's potetnial conversion by getting them to internalize the scorner's view. Therefore, the cognitive dissonance religionists are often accused of having is every bit as possible in the atheist and/or agnostic.

Chariklo, to put it simply, it's because atheism is revolutionary, with its roots in the reign of Bolshevik terror in the Soviet Union. Eugene Rose, a Christian convert who was atheist and homosexual, wrote a very interesting short book on the topic as it relates to revolution: Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age.

Illuminati and the Watchtower

as i've said on this forum before, my wife is an active jw and has been getting more and more active while trying to indoctrinate my 21 year old son, who still lives at home and is not working but is going to a community college.
my wife takes him and my 7 years old daughter to some meetings and conventions.

Yes, you have more or less nailed it. The Watchtower is an extension of the Illuminati's Reformation, based in Freemasonry and the Kabbalah. It apepears King Henry VIII was seduced for the purpose of overthrowing the Catholic stronghold in England and replacing it with Judaism, under the guise of the Protestant Reformation. Catherine of Aragon recognized this. The British Crown, even today, functions in accordance with the precepts of the Babylonian Talmud, not the Bible. Some of the Watchtower's policies are based in Illuminism.
To the naysayers: many of you claim there is no tangible evidence that the Watchtower is affiliated with the Illuminati. But you are only basing this on your own limited understanding of what Illuminism is. Illuminism isn't just a secret society. Illuminism is actually a strategic tool utilizing reconnaissance and espionage. So please educate yourself before posting on matters you only have a shallow understanding of. However, there is plenty of evidence linking the Watchtower to both the societal nature of the Illuminati as well as its reconnaissance aspect. Reading The Watchtower and the Masons is a good start.

Wannabe, the traditional Christian view is that the "rapture" (harpazo) is the same event as the resurrection. The Reformation has distored this view as a way of hastening the Masonic goal of having a paradise on Earth based in Jerusalem as the world capital. (The Knights Templar, of which Charles Taze Russell was a member, fought for this end.) Karl Marx even predicted this paradise on Earth scenario. The entire U.S. Foreign Policy is based on this Masonic heresy—the cause of endless war in the Middle East. Again, it goes back to a non-Biblical Messianic expectation, the same heresy that plagues the Watchtower and every other Reformation-based group.
Like Marx and others, the Watchtower predicted this: 924: God's restoration of Earth would begin "shortly after" October 1, 1925. Jerusalem would be made the world's capital. Resurrected "princes" such as Abel, Noah, Moses and John the Baptist would give instructions to their subjects around the world by radio, and airplanes would transport people to and from Jerusalem from all parts of the globe in just "a few hours".
Paralell that with:
"The Jewish people as a whole will be its own Messiah. It will attain world domination by the dissolution of other races...and by the establishment of a world republic in which everywhere the Jews will exercise the privilege of citizenship. In this New World Order the Children of Israel...will furnish all the leaders without encountering opposition..."
