this morning i decided to log into the local cong meeting on zoom, during the public talk the speaker likened the covid vx to jesus ransom sacrifice, saying that those who didn't avail of the vx, the 'anti vaxxers', are just like people who refuse to put faith in jesus.. i felt sick, knowing my unvxed but active jw parents were sitting there, i logged off immediately.
surely such talk is pure blasphemy or am i just over reacting?!.

I didn't know about those letters, in that case, my parents local cong has a slightly rebellious body of non jabbed elders!

In fairness to my parents, they couldn't even afford to celebrate holidays and birthdays, sports were definitely out of their league. Window cleaners were far from wealthy in the 80s and 90s.

I dont know what the story is but from what I gather it varies a lot from the US to other countries, the US seems to be far stricter and more cult like whereas in Europe they're a teeny bit more lenient.

@punkofnice I fully agree with you 😅 my parents weren't at that meeting I learnt afterwards, dad's an elder, and I told them about the talk. They were apologetic, reminded me that the speaker was from another cong, and that a few of their elders are not vxed so at least in their cong it's not being pushed. I, however, find it somehow worse that none of them stood up and corrected the public speaker!!
what a mockery that statement is to over 99% of their followers.
