284000 baptized in 2017
by jw-verite inseen in the 03/2018 watchtower study :.
"during the 2017 service year, more than 284,000 “rightly disposed” individuals symbolized their dedication to jehovah by water baptism.".

I'm interested in finding out where the increase in baptisms happened. My best guess is Congo, Angola, and their neighboring countries.

Witness Royalty and the last day at the "Towers"
by Lynnie inmy uber elder cousin and his wife got the "privilege" of having one last "toast" of wine at the rooftop garden at the towers in nyc since the jw's are vacating to warwick.
his oldest daughter and son in law are quite high up in the inner circle so they get invited to all the "inner circle" activities.
even though they aren't supposed to toast to anything it was pretty darn close.

Lynnie, I find your posts about wt royalty to be fascinating, since as a common minion I haven't hobnobbed with that type. It highlights the narcissism and elitism at watchtower's rotten core. It might be amusing if the showboating of your cousin's wealthy husband became the hot topic at the Warwick monastic breakfast table.
I also appreciate the courage of former Bethelites, CO s, Missionaries and other former ranking members to share the cult experience from their perspectives.

Many Witnesses are just plain tired out!
by UnshackleTheChains ini believe that many witnesses are tired out or at least tiring out.
i know....... because i am tired out!.
imagine going to college for 20 years not knowing when college is finished.

I'm tired, and my family's tired. But no one can say it too loud, for fear of being labeled spiritually weak and under Satan's control. At the AGM one of the GB told of how he travels the world and is so glad to see that the brothers are zealous and not tired out. No wonder, since he is surrounded by the biggest sycophant suck ups who can elbow their way backstage and entertain them after their enlightened talks. They sure won't admit to being tired.

2017 Annual Meeting
by Jules Saturn inthis just in from the 2017 annual meeting:.
1. watchtowers and awakes won't be released regularly, at least three watchtower and awakes per year.
6 magazines a year.. 2. a new book is being released: remain in god's love, more of an update like how they did for the what does the bible really teach book.

I was surprised by Gerry’s final word in the Dedication talk, Hallejah! I impulsively repeated it out loud while everyone clapped, and imagined we were all holy rollers for a moment. But I was just there for the smallest bit of entertainment value, and to keep peace at home.

Paradise? Was it?
by TerryWalstrom inparadisewas it really paradise to be in paradise?adam and eve never were held by a mother, never cuddled and sung to with a lullaby nor nursed or coddled with tenderness or any human familial embrace.
the first humans (adam and eve) never learned to toddle surrounded by brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and grandparents cheering them on.
the entire experience of childhood was excised surgically like a trauma patient awakening from an accident with amnesia.adam and eve were never in a neighborhood with other kids forming friendship bonds for life and exchanging dreams and hopes for a future they were building in their community.

It doesn't seem very romantic when you explain it this way. But it is always mentioned in jw wedding talks. I feel bad for Adam having to wait decades or centuries watching the animals have sex while he got none. Then when he got a sex partner she broke a silly rule before she cold even have their first child. He fell in love with literally the first woman he ever met and would have eaten anything to keep her.

It was so nice of them to write a song for the r&f to sing heartfelt appreciation for the privilege to give their time and possessions so the gb and helpers can have a nice new home that brings praise to Jah.

10 Graphs that show that the Watchtower is in trouble in Mexico
by ILoveTTATT2 inmexico is by far the country where the witnesses have had the most success in the entire world.
almost any statistic except the total amount of witnesses shows that mexico is where the witnesses have had the wildest success in the world.proportional to population, the witnesses in mexico are double, or nearly triple, what they are in the us or brazil.but there is "trouble in paradise".
if mexico falls, pretty much the whole watchtower falls.which is why it is so important to have jwfacts translated to spanish.i made an analysis and things are looking bad in mexico... if trends continue, mexico will become just like the 1st-world countries.here is the first graph:maximum publisher % increase:.

Thanks for sharing the detailed analysis and insights from Mexico. It would be nice to see a healthy decline in publishers this year. Although for JW gringos with some savings, Mexico sounds like a nice retirement destination. Especially if their kids are df'd and they don't care about seeing grandchildren.
