i thank all of you for the warm welcome and having read my bio.

i look forward to many discussions and hopefully in the future to be able to be open about it with my wife and kids.

but for now i have a question.

Watchtower accountants and lawyers go to great lengths to keep the finances secret. But there are a few tidbits that have been made public. The following article from Watchtower gives a glimpse into the finances in the 1930s. I suspect large donations and inheritances make up a large chunk of their income. And Watchtower is heavily invested in real estate, holding title to about 40,000 properties, mainly KHs and property left in wills. But good luck finding documentation. We can only speculate on much of their finances, as I have done here. A recent leaked video of their accountants mentions that they are trying to sell 3,000 of their properties.

i have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.

it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.

congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

There are still some zealots in my area. Some Pioneer Elders, Pioneer Elder Wives, and my Wife. The majority are social witnesses.

The Latest Thing Waking People Up...

since i woke up and left i've been contacted by others i knew from my youth who've also left the cult.

also people around the world on facebook adding me out of the blue because we have mutual friends and they occasionally ask me stuff or share their story.. what i've noticed in the vast majority of cases, is that people are waking up not because of the arc or doctrine but apathy.

active jws are becoming less and less interested, less and less bothered.

I kind of agree with Trottigy. Tony the turd helped wake me up with his extreme insanity, so I owe him a debt of gratitude. I was born in, so didn't realize how crazy this religion is. It was my normal. By all means, I hope he keeps up the good work of waking up good people. Lett, Loesch and Herd display their own brand of crazy to confirm that it's all messed up.

The org is only required to provide safe passage out for the least of Christ's brothers. Since they got Douglas Mark Sanderson out, they can now sleep in peace after stirring up so much trouble for the poor humble Russians.

watched the jw finance video's.. they have sold all brooklyn landmarks.

they are selling other property maybe up to 3000 units worldwide.. so, there is going something wrong.... there must be a giant money leak.

There is a serious lack of accountability evident in their discussions. No can can openly criticize poor business decions that have to be approved by the GB. If you’re an accountant for the Pennsylvania Corporstion, you won’t last long unless you’re a yes man.

Song: The Life Of A Pioneer

it struck me today how the lyrics to kingdom song 81 "the life of a pioneer" sound almost like a slave song from a plantation or something.

what's also sad is, if you read, you'll notice that they sound not only like slaves, but slaves that are admittedly tired and worn out yet grateful to serve their governing body overseers master to prove their devotion to him.. very sad indeed..

This looks like a more depressing version of the old song "From House to House" But the new song is especially for those "privileged" to be pioneers and urges them to stay close to their carts.

My impressions of the cart witnessing

i have watched tons of youtube videos of our exjdub friends approaching and talking to the jdub manikins at their carts as they give a great witness to the world by sipping their hot lattes, updating their social media, chit chatting to each other, and the most important thing of getting their time in, counting their hours.. when the jw's see someone approach with a camera they do several things, they will turn their backs on the person, or look at the person with a frown and act like the person isn't even there.

the witlesses refuse to answer simple, clear, and precise questions.

when i was an elder i loved to get into discussions and debates with trinitarians, priest, clergymen and those who were born again.

I would think that they if they knew they had life saving truths and that they want to help people by teaching in public, they would welcome people who are asking questions and would be glad they are broadcasting the message. YouTube could offer them free advertizing, without the costs of JWTV.

I would be find if they established a program to better track their known pedophiles. But the only example detailed in the videos is that of an 85 year old faithful pioneer sister who would not be required to log in to enter her own data. They would have some one else do that for her. Of course they want to track her so they can make sure they inherit any wealth she might have. When they see her date of birth, they will want to make sure she has her personal copy of donation brochure.

Wakanda, it's interesting to see that published. That's not the kind of thing wt would publish. It's too truthful. I suspect far more halls than 20 were sold in the US last year. The video shown last week was called the "third progress report on LDC activities". But rather than being a balanced report it was mainly bragging.

Atlantis, I wish I could get the video, but I don't have access to the source and I lack the skills. I just watched it at the meeting.

Jp, the wt definition of an overcrowded auditorium is one that has 5,6 or more congregations assigned to it. So if a hall has four Spanish congregations and an English congregation, the four Spanish can be combined into three larger congregations, leaving only four congregations total, and then that hall is no longer considered overcrowded. But the effect is that seating is more crowded with larger congregations. The same number of people, maybe more, still use the kh.
