It certainly seems plausible that Satan could be that little voice that occasionally inclines us to do things that aren't so smart. I certainly see no reason that can't be applied to the story of Adam and Eve. Maybe the whole point of that story is to show us that it's not always a good idea to listen to it. Being human, Christ wouldn't be invulnerable to it. I certainly occasionally debate with myself about the advisability of certain actions.

Serpent in the Garden of Eden is not Satan
by anointed1 inmany interpret serpent in the garden of eden as the satan hence miss the whole point because satan himself does not exist.
he is a fictional character [for example, in the temptation account, satan is shown as reflecting the erroneous belief of ancient time that shape of earth is flat, thus taking jesus to the top of “a very high mountain” and showed him “all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.” (mathew 4:8, 9) the fact that jesus did not correct the mistaken view of satan shows the account of temptation is allegorical.
further, jesus knew that satan was only a personification of evil (mathew 16:23; john 6:70) and categorically declared that “all evil thoughts proceed from one’s heart,” not from satan.

A serious question for any who believe in any God of any religion who think God is interested in humans.
by smiddy inthe world health organization states that in the year 2015 ,5.9 million children died under the age of 5 years of age.. in 2010 the death rate for children under the age of 5 years of age was 7.6 million.
thats over 13 million in just 2 years .
i dont think you need to be a rocket scientist to conclude that since mankind has been on the earth for however long you want to believe and i`m just going on a conservative estimate of 6000 years by the above figures i quoted their would be billions of children under 5 yearsof age that would have died.

What if God is not indifferent, but merely not omnipotent. Does creating something necessarily mean you have complete control over it? You could say that Satan challenging God is not so much God allowing free will, but God's inability to prevent Satan from rebelling. He may be aware of our suffering, but not able to do much about it.

I am in no way for open borders. I am tired though, of demonizing people who try to build a better life for themselves. They are criminals in the strict interpretation of the law, but they aren't all bad people.
I just don't believe that a wall is the right solution. Surely we can come up with something better that won't cost $21 billion.

Sparlock is making his rounds again
by stillin ini was at the meeting last night and the dreadful video about caleb and sparlock was forced upon the audience.
honestly, i had forgotten how bad it was.
the mother's manipulative over-reaction and caleb's acceptance that his toy was evil.

I'm so tired of the message that we're all so weak that we must not even think of magic lest we fall into Satan's snares. My youngest son and his friends play many RPGs that involve magic of one sort or another, and I've yet to see them waving wands or uttering enchantments in order to get something done. For God's sake, I know many Witnesses that are huge science fiction fans. Isn't a book or movie about the future an admission that the world didn't end in the 21st century? So much contradiction! Why can't we take it all as what it is, the human ability to think of imaginary scenarios that keep us entertained.

And cheap! Only $21.5 Billion, $25 billion tops. And 3 1/2 years to build, just in time for Trump's 2020 inauguration!

for those who like stats and numbers may find this of interest.. 1914 – recognizing the ”the elephant in the room”.
the problem with the date ”1914 ad” lays with the two calendars that are involved – jewish and gregorian.

This is definitely another nail in the coffin of 1914, but will the average Witness really understand the calculations, or just pass it off as Satan's crafty acts? They might even refuse to examine the problem by calling it apostate reasoning. However, it may be a great tool to use with someone who is actively seeking confirmation of the doubts they're experiencing. Another great addition to the Apostate toolbox. -

Just now read an article in the New York Times about the Republican farmers in California. They voted for Trump because he promised to relax regulations, but thought he wasn't serious about cracking down on illegal immigrants. Now they are admitting that if the workers are deported, their businesses will be devastated. Evidently there has been a labor shortage, because there has been a decrease in the numbers coming across the border, and the current generation is growing older. They also say that Americans won't work under the conditions and low wages they offer. They are for legalizing the people who are here, and getting special visas to bring in seasonal workers from other countries.
Ain't payback a bitch!

In my congregation there was a wonderful young man who was on the road to ministerial servant, when he had the misfortune to get involved with a minor girl (also a witness). He was disfellowshipped, and when reinstated was deemed a sex offender, making him ineligible for any "privileges". Now that he was no longer of any use to the elders, he was basically ignored, no support or encouragement from the brothers. After suffering severe depression, he finally moved from his parents house and broke off all connection with the Witnesses. He has since moved in with a worldly girl, wisely keeping his whereabouts secret, and now the elders are all concerned about his well being, wanting to bring him back into the fold, while admitting they will have to disfellowship him again before he can redeem himself. Such Love!
