Look up the reliability of Rasmussen to decide if 59% is Trump's true favorability rating. I'm expecting Conway to announce it very soon.

So, the Womens March ... What Is It For?
by Simon init seems like mobilizing after the election, which seems pointless.
i keep hearing demands for equal rights but don't understand what rights they are missing exactly.. normally a march is to show the support (and potential votes) for a cause, but ... votes for what?
... and the election happened already.. is anyone else confused?

Why is this blind allegiance to the anointed ones?
by anointed1 ineven when they know that certain things are not right with the organization the flocks are blindly following their leaders viewing them as the future “kings and priests” (originally a sumerian concept).. greed for a “land of milk and honey” (either in this life or the next) is at the root of their allegiance.
interestingly, greed is something the flocks are warned against: ‘be on your guard against all kinds of greed which is idolatry.’ (luke 12:15; colossians 3:5).

The idea that Anthony Morris, let alone the other 6 Governing Body members, would be appointed to lead in the New World makes it clear that the whole concept is fatally flawed. Not to mention having to deal with Russell, Rutherford, and the other chosen ones. Can you imagine the fighting over doctrine? I'm sure Russell would have a few things say to Rutherford!
I have no faith in a self appointed group that "just knows" they are chosen. I'm sure that Jehovah has a much better way to select his future Kings and Princes.

If the Org. confessed they were not God's org. Would you still be there and was that the main reason you stayed
by tor1500 ini know you know who i am by now...the one that forgets to use paragraphs...anyway, all over all the jw sites (not jw.org).
it's been asked if you knew this or that why did you stay...it's been discussed how no matter what you hit the friends with, failed dated, new lights, pedophiles, etc, yet they stay and you can't reason with them....so what i've come up with is that most stay because they feel it's god's org.
and they were chosen in place of the jews.

If the Organization is not favored by Jehovah, then why would you stay? There are plenty of religious groups that believe in good morals and caring for others. Without their claim of being the only true faith, why wouldn't you switch to a group that was not so judgmental and often cruel. If no denominations are perfect, why not belong to one that makes you happy. If Jehovah is a "happy God" why wouldn't he want you to be happy too?

I'm sorry, but equating the women's march with a call to establish Sharia law is a load of BS! I don't personally know one woman that approves of the treatment of women in some third world countries.
Those that paid attention, would have realized that people like the hated Hillary Clinton have spent a good deal of their time trying to improve the lives of those women. And please don't mention the Clinton foundation. Those who claimed that only a small amount of their money went to charity, omit the fact that the foundation runs it's own programs that supply aid around the world. Add that to their charitable donations and you're well over 90% going to good causes. Of course, most people would prefer to get their information from Breitbart, rather than reputable charity watchdog groups.
Certainly, there were all sorts of strange groups involved in the march, but I would argue that that the real message was not to fight for MORE rights, it was to preserve the rights that women have fought for for centuries.
If you really think that Trump and Pence don't pose any threat to the rights of minorities, other religions and nationalities, the LGBT community, or women in general, then you could only be getting your information from Youtube, Facebook,Twitter, Fox, Breitbart, and numerous other dubious sources that put the Watchtower to shame when it comes to cherry picking.
I choose to consider all sources, fact check when possible, and believe my own eyes and ears. When a false statement is made, and recorded, then it is a fact that it's a lie. There is no alternate fact.
I suspect that some of you don't really believe what you're saying, just like to poke the hive and watch the reaction. Some others, however, seem to care only if something disturbs their little universe. I think I'll stick with those who care about everyone.

When an organization is selling off property, laying off people, and forcing people to drive long distances, and at the same time is building large unneeded complexes, I think it DOES matter where the money is going.

I'm not arguing the percentages that Mage gave in the beginning of his comment, but I can't help but think it's funny when he follows that with a statement like "women tend to quit the tech fields more often than men due to realizing that they are not really interested in CS and they just got into CS because CS jobs tend to pay higher; or they decided to stop working when they had kids and etc."
I'd like to read the scientific study that came up with those observations. It sounds more like someone's opinions, and kind of dismissive of women's motives for getting a job, and their commitment to a job. First of all, men don't get jobs they're not interested in, in order to get better pay? Also, we shouldn't hire women for CS jobs because they might want to have children in the future? These are the kind of generalizations that feed the whole SJW agenda.

If "the Truth" is the truth, why are witnesses so scared of research?
by stuckinarut2 init is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.

Perhaps they can change "The Truth" to "The Alternate Facts". Then you wouldn't have to research at all.

Eagerly anticipating the death of billions!
by stuckinarut2 insurely someone who eagerly looks forward to the death of billions of people (including babies and children) is not emotionally healthy?.
yet, that is the key belief "happily" anticipated by witnesses.... food for thought?.

The Organization has given itself an out with the "only Jehovah can read our hearts" line. Isn't this the response people are coached to give in court, when asked about the Witnesses beliefs on this subject? Also, they never come right out and say everyone will be slaughtered. They just list the requirements to be spared, which turn out to describe ONLY the Witnesses.

So, I watched "The Founder" today, and had a minor Revelation
by Captain Schmideo2 inin the movie's story, ray kroc, the man who is in charge of franchising mcdonalds restaurants, is finding himself in a situation where he is doing gangbusters at creating the stores, but is going broke on his contract.
he gets help from another fast food executive who examines his books.one aspect of the business jumps out.
the stores need land to operate on, and that money is going to the land-owners who lease the land to the stores.

People sometimes forget that the DF'd can speak to anyone they want (unless they're actively trying to get reinstated). What can the elders do, double disfellowship someone?
