I agree with all your points but the last.
As I said, the violent protesters represent a minority, not a majority. Till you have credible statistics to prove otherwise, I'll consider it your opinion, not a fact.
great discussion, well worth watching.
covers racism, the bubble that some people live in vs the reality that resulted in trumps election and more (and jws get a mention too).. the rubin report (and many of the guests he has on) repeatedly knock it out of the park with sensible, calm and important analysis and commentary on important issues to our society.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-feapcgxnyy.

so i spoke to my elder dad the other day, and he asked if i still am sporting a beard.
i said yes, then i said, "i thought the society said its ok to have a neat trimmed beard now?
" he said "no, no, no..if you read the article , it says in countries where it is accepted" so my response was "ummm, its pretty accepted here in america"..which he says "it reflects your spirituality" "if another wittness saw you, they would know you are weak"...i was like, "ok, i don't get it, and i follow christ/god, not men..." then he said in his hall" if a brother came in with a beard , he would not have privelages" then i just gave up, and tried to change the subject..ugggggggggg if these people would just listen to themselves , they would see the sillyness of there teachings...
As I note the number of balding JW men who are shaving their heads, I notice that no one talks about their resemblance to many White Supremacists when they are not in their suits. So why the stigma about a beard stumbling someone?
I'd be inclined to be more suspect of a shaved headed man in tee shirt and jeans, than one with a neat beard.
great discussion, well worth watching.

In any society there will be hot heads that take any philosophy to the extreme, liberal or conservative.(any that lived through the 60's should realize this).
Painting all liberal college students with the same brush is like saying all Southerners during the Civil Rights movement were racist. Not true.
The actions of the students at Evergreen were abhorrent to the majority of progressives (myself included).
When the MSM begins to praise these individuals, rather than condemn their actions, you will have a valid argument for the loss of free speech in this country.
Till then, this is a small group of extremists, not the majority of liberals.
muslims in mosul have helped rebuild a christian church that had been destroyed by isis.. iraq has one of the smallest, but oldest, christian communities in the world but isis oversaw the destruction of iraqi churches, books and christian spaces during their occupation of the city..... it's heartening to see both the military defeat of isis in mosul and the desire for normal relationships shown by the inter-faith community.. there is hope..
We need to stop calling people "good" Christians or "good" Muslims, but simply what they are. They're good people who will always be the majority in any society, despite what the pessimists may say. The "wicked" heart will always be the exception, not the rule.
i know this is a stupid question because the answer is obvious, but if a person was born a male and gets transgender surgery to turn into female will that person go to heaven as a male or female if they died saved?
i think they will go to heaven with the gender they were born with.
If all saved transgenders return as their birth state, won't this also necessitate making all saved LGBTs heterosexual?
would like to see your responses ~.

kapitan kovfefe is a man of his word - well ...twisted word ~ .
Once again, Trump pokes the rest of the world in the eye as America retreats into isolationist mode. Any history buff here can tell you how well it worked in the past.
As they become less dependent on fossil fuels, the rest of the world will thumb their noses at America, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and other oil producers. If anything, this will spur China and other forward thinking countries into improving clean energy technology, which they will share with us, if we can afford to pay what they'll charge for it.
after seeing tiger woods mug shot the idea hit me, a makeup artist for the famous and rich...i have never seen a mug shot of someone who didn't look like, well you know..weekends you camp out around the police station and charge 20-30 bucks to clean up arrestee(you the makeup artist) before taking their mug shot..i'am sure tiger would have paid big bucks.
i have never taken a mug shot but why don't they offer the folks a mirror......of course you will need to make arrangement with the law but i think it's a good idea to make folks presentable.
i'am sure some folks are declared guilty by just looking at their mug shot..
The most horrific celebrity mug shot I can recall was Nick Nolte's some years back.

the dad in this is a total douche.
i dont know if the videos have become more judgemental and culty in the year since i left - or maybe im just noticing it more?.
The son of a woman acquaintance of mine turned to his Mom at the conclusion of the video and said,"Did you notice? Every light fixture in the drama was from Ikea!"
At least he was paying attention.
washington — president trump asked the f.b.i.
director, james b. comey, to shut down the federal investigation into mr. trump’s former national security adviser, michael t. flynn, in an oval office meeting in february, according to a memo mr. comey wrote shortly after the meeting.. “i hope you can let this go,” the president told mr. comey, according to the memo.. the existence of mr. trump’s request is the clearest evidence that the president has tried to directly influence the justice department and f.b.i.
investigation into links between mr. trump’s associates and russia.. mr. comey wrote the memo detailing his conversation with the president immediately after the meeting, which took place the day after mr. flynn resigned, according to two people who read the memo.
What I was saying is: there is no such thing.
Sadly, you may be right. So I'll keep on keeping on, with the hope that (as Trump would say), I'll be vindicated in the end.

Simon.
I totally agree with you, I do make an effort to see both sides of the story, and find it's not difficult to discern the truth if you weigh the facts dispassionately. There are commentators on Fox that don't occupy the prime time slots, who are much less prejudiced in their viewpoints, unlike Hannity and Carlson, just as there are anchors on CNN that go for the "Big" story.
The question is, how do you deal with those who choose only to believe one side?
NPR is an excellent source for a fairly unbiased presentation of facts, yet I think you'll agree that it's constantly presented by some on the right as "liberal". Why is that so? It's my opinion that there's an intrinsic feeling by some conservatives that the plain unvarnished truth is not their friend. Again, that's just my opinion.
I've been wrong in this forum about some things that I picked up from my research, and I think you'll find that each time it was pointed out to me, I admitted it and apologized.
I've been a little snarky at times when someone has gotten under my skin, but have never called anyone the kind of names that I've been labeled by some individuals.
So, I would still welcome any suggestions of news sources that we can all trust (to some degree), and will try to limit my comments to examples that are trustworthy. This will include videos of statements, documents that are proven to exist, and named events and sources from intelligence agencies and the media that are accepted by the majority as being factual. That's the best I can do.
Thanks.
