Thanks for your answers, folks. I guess I was never placed in front of a formal JC; just the two elders fishing for information. They did ask me "THE QUESTION", though, about whether I thought the GB is Jehovah's visible org, blah blah blah.

It`s "FAMILY " Month at the Watchtower
by Beans inyes brothers and sister the focus over the next few months is how to maintain good family life.
but not only that the watchtower will also tell you why there has been such an increase in single mothers in the last few years!
as you know in the truth this does not exist as the perfect loving families can only be jehovahs witnesses.

EEK! Does this mean they're going to start celebrating mothers/fathers day? I was always told that they don't celebrate those days because you should be respectful and loving to your parents EVERY DAY!
So they're going to put extra time and effort into spending time with their families this fall; and then to hell with it all eff. Dec 21/02?
BTW, I haven't received an invite from my family yet; obviously they're letting it slip!

I couldn't tell someone they were lucky; I had to tell them they were fortunate.
I couldn't call my school friends "friends"; had to refer to them as associates. :P
I will never forget the time my mother swore in front of the circuit overseer! :D She wanted to die. LMAO So I would say that *sshole is something JWs don't say but I know better. And so does Brother Ackerman.

I also found it interesting that the elder who had the regular pioneer daughter who was reproved, was the same elder about 2 years ago who talked to my daughter in private after a Sunday meeting. He was reading scriptures to her, and we left the hall with her in tears. She wouldn't tell me what he told her, but it sent her to bed for a couple of hours when we got home.
Flowerpetal, isn't it the rule that no elder should ever counsel a sister one-on-one? I would seriously challenge that elder for overstepping his bounds!!! Find out what it was about!

Ugh, Halle Berry. I might like her if she wasn't always so in-your-face about the fact that she's black, she's been oppressed, boohoo sob sob every time she gets an award, she now feels so validated after working so hard, blah blah blah. How sad that it takes an award from the most self-absorbed, shallow group of people on earth to make her feel validated. I'd give her every award in the f***ing world if she would accept them SILENTLY!!
Ahem....stepping down off my soapbox.....I present:
Preventing Lesbianism (Harmony! are you paying attention??)
Lenny Kravitz
Rick Mercer
And just in case you still have tendencies, lol...I submit the following:
Phyllis Diller.
LMAO!!!

Heat Advisory: Philadelphia Assembly Next Weekend
by Room 215 incalling all dubbies in the middle atlantic states unlucky enough to have been assigned to the annual sauna in philly july 11-13.. as the u.s, northeast bakes in sweltering heat and debilitating humidity, what greater first-hand evidence can you find of bethel's callous indifference to your well-being than their persistence in scheduling these pointless hum-drum events in such a notorious blast-furnace environment as vets stadium, when just across the street, at the spectrum, and in countless other venues, air-conditioned auditoriums are readily available to them?
repeated, public warnings in the media of the health hazard to the very young and elderly posed by such conditions fall on deaf ears in brooklyn.
cancel?

I remember being in Olympic Stadium in Montreal in 1984 and in 1985? Those years are approximate but it was around that time. That was awful; the first year the dome was open so there was sun but at least there was a breeze. The second year, they weren't able to retract that stupid covering so it was like an enormous oven. The large display that was visible from all points of the stadium, had a reading of the current temp and it hovered around 33 degrees Celsius ALL THE TIME. And we were camping in Trailer City which they had set up at the Botanical Gardens.
Lots of fun.
**Edited to indicate that 33 degrees is celsius, and not fahrenheit which would have been quite brisk for July.
