bennyK I like your reasoning, maybe that is the route I could take, my concern is I don't want to draw out the inevitable.
I am not going to sit in some kangaroo court.. :-)
hello my exjw/pimo/pomo friends,.
i am working on penning my da letter and wondered if i should use it as a tool to maybe wake up individuals as the boe will have to read it.. anyone have any advice on what i should say versus what i should leave out?
i am not going to fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion.

I am not going to Fade as my family can either be loyal to blood or loyal to a man made religion. It's their choice and I will love them regardless of their feelings.
Thanks for your help...(Anyone have a draft they are willing to share as an example...?

as we all know, the highest priority or concern in the religion isn’t about adhering to god’s word or obeying jehovah and jesus, but rather the image of the organization and all its members.
just yesterday there was a talk where the brother stated how important it is to keep our homes clean, yards free of junk piling up and cars clean, because it could possibly detract from the message.
besides those things he mentioned, they want all males to never grow a beard or goatee.
This is a very underrated post.
EVERYTHING in the BORG centers around appearances.
ALL judicial cases and the subsequent discipline to be meted out are based on how much notoriety is associated with the event.
Having served as an elder in the past - I have seen with my own eyes a case result in private reproof with an unmarried couple having sex like rabbits many times and then another brother gets a BJ and it was found out by many in the area due to social media and he got Disfellowshipped.
Look at the Leaked Elders manual and you will see after every cause for a judicial case, the question "How well know is the sin?"
In reality based on their teaching shouldn't it be.... :-)

Sir82 - very very true. I don’t have the circuit accounting procedures but when I was in those meetings as an elder that’s exactly what was said...
why that didn’t wake me up then I don’t know, cult mind control is a real thing.

Salisbury is still in use.
because they went to 1 day assemblies and they go 48 weeks of usage that’s $1,920,000 annual take per assembly hall.
i have no idea how many Assembly halls there are but all assembly halls are paid for by donations so Orangeburg was in zero debt when it opened its doors in 2013.
like I said before - it’s not a huge cost as I’ve spent more on popcorn and a ticket at the theatre / but it’s the deception as to why the money is needed.
At Regionals they no longer mention the accounts as it is covered by WWW
still a lot of money comes in at these I have seen it with my own eyes

Straight shot down 26.
mountains are great we all used to go to Salisbury NC and it had very comfortable seats and a dining area. I worked on that construction project as a teenager in the mid 90’s and now we go to Orangeburg in the middle of nowhere and very uncomfortable seating and you eat at your seat. I know out of the 2,250 in attendance I could not possibly be the only PIMO.

Hi Careful - you are welcome for the information. Yes the young people are just socially at events.
The baptism versus attendance indicates a growth of .4 % 9/2250 I know our circuit has had 10 disfellowshipings and 5 deaths
so it’s shrinking for sure
the circuit includes halls such as Shelby / Columbus / Forest City / Spartanburg / Simpsonville
The CO is Gregory Nuegent

The interesting thing is that we carried a deficit from the last assembly in December of over $5k.
You can hear the collective WTF from the audience when the accounts report is read.
I used to work in the Accounting department at the circuit and we always covered the amount due, however, back then in the 2000’s the mandatory Tithe was far less as the circuit assemblies were 2 day events for $15k.
the beautiful thing is that my dad is waking up to this particular area of the Borg.

that’s a $10 per person head count - again not really that much money .... but it’s a 2-3 hour drive one way for most of circuit. And some have to stay one night in hotel so a family of four can easily exceed 2-3 hundred bucks for a one day event.
again maybe not a huge deal.
what is a big deal is the lack of transparency - don’t lie about the costs / that’s the bottom line...
