The only thing that ever happend to me was when I was getting my wisdom teeth pulled and they had to pull all 4 wisdom teeth and a 12 year molar. They suposedly gave me enough
anesthetic to put me out for the whole procedure and 30 minutes afterward according to my weight. Well they didn't take into account that i have a really fast metabolism. I woke up while they were finishing up digging out the last tooth. They had numbed my mouth but I started screaming when I woke up out of pure shock that they were still in my mouth taking out teeth. The dentist told me I needed to stop screaming and that he was almost done. With that same procedere my gums healed too quickly over the next week and they were afraid of infection so they re-broke the gums with no numbing or anything boy did that hurt.

Death with Dignity
by onacruse ini've presented myself on this db with a strong inclination that there is such a thing a death with dignity, including my expressed (and still resolved) determination to refuse a blood transfusion (or any other organ or fluid implant from another human being) to prolong my life (for reasons that have nothing to do with jw pseudo-theology).. in that determination, i obviously have a personal ideal of a "death with dignity.".
however, last night, i watched an interview wherein the commentator said "there is no dignity in death; there is only dignity in life.".
it gave me serious pause for thought.. i'd appreciate your perspectives.. craig

I agree with the others that if you can live by simply having a blood transfusion or a organ transplant that is not fair to the ones who love you to take your life away from them. I too plan to donate my organs when they die and hope that they can serve some purpose to extend anothers life where people need them.

All Secret Santa Paricipants sign in here please!
by Gadget inthe details of who to send a gift to will be getting pm'd to you all either friday afternoon or saturday morning!
according to the information i've found online the last posting day for standard parcels is dec 11th for usa and december 15th for the uk/europe, so you should all have plenty of time to select and send a gift, although sending sooner rather than later is prefered.
can everyone taking part post on this thread what things they like, what their interests are etc so that the person who is buying a gift for you has some idea what to get you.

Just had my first "cold call"
by onacruse inin the course of the last 3 years, i've had just one visit from jws: a visit from from an old bethel roomate and another elder, just to check up on me, and see if i might want to rejoin the fold.
you might well be able to imagine my responses.
then, last weekend, a nice young fellow (mitch) and his young (teenage) daughter, stopped by, while i was working in the yard.

I said I am happy, and he said he was sorry to hear that."
Its funny he said that I saw a JW i hadn't seen in about 6 years, she had moved to Chicago and is back here now, She had gotten disfellowshipped married a navy man, got reinstated etc, etc. Well we were talking and I told her I was pregnant and due in May and she was like oh thats perfect you will have a new baby just in time for district convention. I was like oh I haven't been to a Kingdom Hall in 5 years. She asked me If I had good reason for not going and I said yes I don't believe the doctrines and I am just so much happier not being a Witness. I told her I have never been as happy as I have been for the last 5 years. She made that exact comment she said to me Well, I am sorry to hear that. I also found that very strange but just let it go. Are they really that afraid of having happiness? Finding out what true happiness is?
