in a recent thread someone said that bagpuss was a good name but didn't know what it meant.. bagpuss was a character from a childrens programme in the 1970s and is becoming popular again now.
i chose this name as like bagpuss i am soft,cuddlyand loyal, but will get the claws out when needed.. why did you choose your 'alias' and what does it tell me about you?

Best turkey recipe?
by bebu inhere's one i've used for years.
i only urge caution if your oven fluctuates or is unreliable in temperature, or if you think the power will go out for some reason during the course of baking.
take your bird, get it all ready to roast (stuff it just before you are prepared to bake it).

We generally make a butter season spread with all kinds of herbs and then we put it all underneath the skin and on top of the bird and bake til the red thing pops it always turns out good. Another thing that turns out really good is pouring a bottle of white wine (drinkable white wine) over the bird after you put all butter and seasoning on it. I am making myself hungry and I have to wait til thursday.

Family Day??

her jw boyfriend and his family have been talking about it...his little sister is making her list of gifts she wants, parents checking out the holiday flyers for good deals on video games etc.
i gather they get up early, have lots of presents and special meals and get together with extended family.

Flower I got the service bag too the one with the watchtower on it and it had 2 pockets that fit tracts perfectly and a pocket for you NH's and another pocket for magazines and middle for books. I remember being so bummed out that that was my gift.

when i was df'd i lost everyone i ever had a relationship with - all but 2 people, my little boy, and my worldly boyfriend.
as we all know - it is so devastating and lonely.

Oh Vails that is too bad. My cousin just found out that one her neighbors is a pedophile too and she has a 3 year old daughter. You never know who your neighbor is going to be.

Amost said a prayer
by Elsewhere ingrowing up i never really believed in the whole "jehover, angels, jebus, spirits, etc" thing.
i just went along with everyone because i knew i would be rejected and shunned if i said that i did not believe.. over time i learned certain "instincts" that allowed me to live among the "faithful" without their catching on to my non-belief.
one of my instincts that i learned was to expect to bow my head at the beginning and end of any "meeting".

We always prayed before we ate. I never really liked praying i never would close my eyes and would get talked to about it i would tell the brother if your eyes were closed you wouldn't know mine were opened. Half the time I didn't say Amen. When I got married we never prayed. When I am with my family and they pray i bow my head out of respect but still won't say amen to something I totally and uterly disagree with.

I was never late to a meeting until I met my husband then we would just sit in the Library and chit chat and make fun of all the talks the whole time. It was really fun!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

i had the pleasure of meeting w/our friends xenawarrior, lauralisa, thunderrider and sheilam., for an early thanksgiving.
it would be nice if we could all sit down and have some food together, but until we get one of those star trek transporter thingies it just aint happenin.

That is so nice of you Valis! I love thanksgiving, we are having Thanksgiving with our best friends and then Friday I always cook for our JW family because as you all know thanksgiving on friday is 'A' ok.

My parents gave us gifts on their anniversary when we were kids, my extended family would also come to the anniversary party and give us something usually $10 in a card. That was it that was all we were allowed. Trust me its not the same as your birthday or christmas.
