Can your beliefs about religion make it across our intellectual battleground?
Take this test to find out... I took one direct hit.

the talk given today sounded pretty convincing.
facts were stated about how our body is designed to live forever (the brain, blood vessels etc) and how all these intricated details about the human body raises us to ask the question: "did not jehovah design us with the purpose of living forever?
now i've read the threads about how there just would not be enough room in the world for all those people.
Another JW myth exposed....

how about every lurker on here and all others spreading the news that unhappy jw's worldwide are to do a general boycott of all jw related activities (meetings, fs, etc) in for the entire month of february 2006. would be interesting to see what happens to the us average publishers for that month.. power to the people!
She didn't say it would probably happen, she said "it could conceivably".
I never claimed that she said "it would probably happen" But she did say...
The WTS will have a heads up about it and could be on the outlook for posters here that don't show up for a monthConceivably, if the WTS is on the outlook for posters here in an effort to 'out' them, then conceivably Richie Richie would have been dead meat months ago.

If you are still going to meetings and decided to boycott any JW activities you could conceivably be "outted" The WTS will have a heads up about it and could be on the outlook for posters here that don't show up for a month.
If Richie Richie has not been "outted" for his antics on this site, don't you thing that one getting outted for missing a few meetings is being a bit paranoid?
i believe that a number of witnesses are leadind double lives.
they go to meetings.
they might even be elders and ministerial servants.
When the PO has to step down and gets DF for screwing a married pioneer sister.
given that so many practises associated with christmas are blatantly christian in origin but christianity endorses spiritual self-flagellation/crucifixion, moderation, and enough "-isms" to make your eyes water, is christmas truly for fun?
i know that often there are few christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a hedonistic and sensory society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby jesus thing is definitely a christian element.
would any true hedonist today want to drink such a mixed cup (potentially of poor-grade wine)?
Is Christmas for fun?
YES!
Since it was the christians who rippped off this holiday from the heathens who established it as a time for fun, I think to be true to this holiday it is all about having fun.
If the christians want to turn this into just the opposite of what it was intended they should get a new day since Jesus wasn't born on December 25 anyway. They can then focus on all their pious stuff on that day and let December 25 go back to it's true meaning...... having fun!
(baylor university, waco, tx) an essay entitled, "jehovah's witnesses, blood transfusions, and the tort of misrepresentation," found in the autumn issue of baylor universitys prestigious journal of church and state, published december 13, 2005, exposes the vulnerability of jehovahs witnesses religious organization to massive claims for compensation because of the religions misrepresentation of the medical risks of blood transfusions.
this milestone essay critically examines one of the religions main publications for teaching their children and new recruits about their blood beliefs, how can blood save your life?
the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.
It is the lying that will cause the Watchtower to go out of business. What if there will be no lawsuits? Most likely there will be many. However, it is the LYING of the Watchtower that will cause it to lose credibility and without credibility no one will listen to "new light" or read new WT books.
The Watchtower has been lying for well over a hundred years now.
Good people have been exposing those lies for well over a hundred years now.
This is nothing new.
There are still millions that listen to "new light" and read WT books.
Buisness is good for the WT.
do some of you expect?!?!.
i am extremely disappointed to read some people's comments about the latest news.
it is one thing to express and opinion, perhaps that you think it isn't as big as you imagined (one wonders what you imagined) but it is another to be downright insulting to people who have put a lot of time and effort into this.. get real.
Their new religion is Anti-Jehovah Witness'ism.
That is about as real as it gets folks. Now don't push ahead of the movers and shakers in this organization or you might irritate one of the slave class who are working hard to dispense the proper Anti_JW food at the proper time.
We really didn't say that is was BIG....I'ts all your fault people, hyping this into something bigger than what it really was.
ahhh flash back to the 70's
what event or events do you think would make every witness think the end really was around the corner?
peace between isreal and palistine?
death of the united nations?
Of course the JWs will look to anything as a sign.
When the first Iraq war broke out, many not seen in years returned to the kingdom hall fearing that was the start to armegeddon. A year later they were gone again.
When George Bush Sr declared a "new world order" eveyone got excited that it was close.
When Ronald Regan used "peace and security" in his Inaugural speach & with reference to star wars, that was a big sign that armegeddon was right around the corner.
Star Wars.... the power of the heavens would be shaken~~~~
1975 the end of 6000 years of man on earth, yeah, that was the ticket.
The pope died!
The cold war was the sign, the king of the north Soviet Union was pushing the South US UK. JWs won't even say who the king of the north is now....hahahahahahaha!
WWII
WWI
1925
1914
The french revolution was declared the start of the last days by CT russell.
When the black death hit Europe in the 1300s everyone thought it was the start of armegeddon. I guess Jehovah wasn't ready for armegeddon back then, he just wanted to kill millions of humans to give them a little taste of what he has in store for man when he is really going to kick some ass.
Maybe another world wide plauge like that might get the JWs all a buzz. How about the bird flu.
I am not going to look for signs that god is ready to kill me. I spent too much of my life worring about death and destruction at God's hand.
The JW's no longer control my mind with this crap. The 'TRUTH' has set me free!
