That's even dumber than listening to politicians and media instead of doctors and scientists.

Hot off the press - Maintaining Congregation Meetings During COVID-19 Pandemic

Did these instructions come directly from Jehovah to his slave, or are they from imperfect men?
Are the GB members continuing to attend public meetings at their ages? If so, a brotherly kiss could send the whole lot of them to their heavenly reward sooner.
Or are they hypocrites hunkering down in their ivory tower while telling the flock to do the opposite? Maybe if some congregation members die, it would ramp up energy and speculation that the end is here.

There is no JW component in this situation.
When i showed apostate leanings in 1999 she divorced me. Two years later she got disfellowshipped and then she left too. I hold no bitterness over that. The divorce ended up being one of the best things in my life. I would have never met my now Non-JW wife if not for that.

Thank you to all who have posted. I’m currently on my phone so I can’t respond to everyone individually.
We live in US and she attends a racially mixed school
The specific comment was this.
She made a comment about two boys in her class who were after her aka like her. In the conversation she mentioned one boy is white and other black.
His comment was that ‘she couldn’t like, date or marry anyone who was black’.
When I ask myself not knowing any other fact about this boy, other than his race what other logical reason someone would say this other than being racist? I can’t think of one.
I choose not to associate with racists by choice, so i asked myself why would I intentionally expose her to it?
In addition to this there have been other occasions where she has related negative comments towards myself and my wife. I have mostly let these type of ignorant comments go but with this latest event, I just see an overall lack of retuning the same respect that we have given her over the years.
I’m seeing a pattern of disrespect, not just one isolated incident. This race thing is what brought it to a tipping point.
i also recognize that I’m angry that she wouldn’t respect my request to shut the F up for 4 hours a month to keep peace and they double down on I should respect their alternate views and will say whatever they want
Thank you all!

Having been raised as a JW, racism was something that was never promoted. I now have a 9 year old that has been visiting her biological grandmother and my ex-wife. It is my child because I adopted her. Neither of us are JWs anymore. :-)
The child goes on a monthly basis for a few hours or in some cases a weekend sleepover. This has gone on for at least 5 years.
The child's grandmother recently got remarried about 6 months ago.
On the past two, 4 hour visits, our child has come home repeating racist comments from her new husband.
When I confronted them about it, and asked for the sake of family peace, that they not talk about controversial topics for the time children was there.
Her response was, "it's their house and they can say or do whatever they want. She says it's just a different point of view than mine and I should allow them to be exposed to different viewpoints."
I am interested in what you would do in this situation?
Is racism wrong or is it a valid concept to consider for a 9 year old?
I'm inclined to cut off the visitations, but would like to hear some opinions from this forum. Thanks for reading!

Do JWs eat shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, and mussels?
by sacolton ini'll play devil's advocate.... true, the mosaic law code prohibited the eating of blood.
but jesus fulfilled the law covenant thus wiping out all the laws previously set.
but then later, (through god's spirit, of course wink wink) the abstaining of blood was again brought to followers of christ.

It's okay to eat those things as long as they are not prepared in aluminum cookware.

Greenland For Sale
by Poztate inthe donald has recently suggested that he would like to look into buying greenland from denmark in the same manner that alaska was purchased from the russians.
i think the danes would be smart to look into selling it as it is costing them money every year with very little returns for their investments so far.. the alternative might well be that donald declares greenland a national security threat and invades them so that the world remains safe for democracy.
i would suggest to the danes that as any other real estate transaction that they put it on the open market and see how much russia or china are willing to offer .
