re: new provisions announced atannual meeting.

In addition to saving money, they have run out of original ideas.
They no longer have crazy cult propaganda writers on the GB. Russel, Rutherford, Fred Franz, Ray Franz were all prolific generators of cult content that could pass through GB committee with ease.
Those days are over! Today's GB have no original ideas.... everyone under them are probably to fearful to bring forward new ideas because they are all yes men. The GB were yes men until recently.
are the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.
(in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.
ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.
For most of the WT history someone on the GB had a very active roll in producing content. Russel, Rutherford, Fred Franz, Ray Franz were all prolific writers of propaganda content.
I am not aware of any GB members today who are as actively involved in producing content and a primary reason for the recycled food and dumb down content IMO.
For this reason I say they are dumber then previous members.
For what they lack in writing ability and producing new spiritual content, they more than make up for in shrewedness.

in bethels hay day, there was a shit ton of literature being printed, they even need a giant factory with elevators a truck could fit in.

since the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.
then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.
every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?
You are no coward. However, you should do your best to get the children out of the middle of the questioning.

i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.

During a quick build an elder made me cover up my Nike swoosh logo on my shirt with duct tape.
During any event that involved dancing an elder would run around the dance floor with a six inch ruler and make sure that anyone single was at least that far away from their dance partner.
i decided to tell this small story.. about 25 years ago, we lived in a certain area in the usa and associated with the local congregation there.
coincidently, one of the elders was the assistant congregation servant in a different kh and congregation which i grew up in.
therefore, we knew one another well.
Sounds to me like they were talking about using you in the congregation and this elder was making use of the holy spirit to give you a litmus test and see if he could bluff you into admitting to any sin that might disqualify you to become elder.
