dear all,.
it is with much regret that i have decided to leave jw.com.
it is not a decision i have made lightly, in fact i had been thinking about it for many weeks now.. i am leaving because i cannot be a part of a forum that condones abuse and deliberate offensiveness towards other posters.
Hello Prisca,
Sorry that you are leaving before I got the change to know you.
Please come back when you are ready.
Best regards, Stealth
i am so hurt by being disfellowshipped.
my mum still talks to me even though she is in but i have problems with living a normal life.
does anyone know what i am going through?
Good to meet you Ballistic,
I am new here. I feel your pain brother. While I am not currently DA or DF and only inactive I can relate to what you are feeling.
My wife divorced me "unscriptually" and reported my internet activity to the elders. While the elders officialy told her that she had no grounds for divorce I believe they secretly unofficialy support her. Not one brother has come by or called since the divorce took place. I would not even want to think of how many hours they have logged knocking on doors of not at homes while I was going through a very dark period in my life. Normal life, whats that. Yes, brother I can relate to what you are going through as I am headed toward a crash course with the WTS before I can see my life ever being normal again.
I hope others can offer some advise for us newbies. If you don't mind me asking what were you DF for?
Regards, stealth
just a reminder to all jws past and present.
if you have a child that that sits quietly for hours .
at a time while adults discuss mind numbingly boring topics around .
What do you call a dislexic(sp?) agnostic with insomnia?
Someone who stays up all night wondering if there realy is a DOG.
it was just one single day in the life a 14 year old boy, yet i can remember it just as if it was yesterday.. i had started working my very first part-time job attending gasoline pumps at a small service station.
i began this day with much anticipation, yet at the time not realizing that this one single day would prove to make such a lasting impression on my memory.
as i pumped gas for customers (remember when they did that), from my outdoor one room shack about the mid part of the day i noticed the sky began to darken.
Hello Richie, Good to meet you.
You said: "To deny this by the WT and putting the blame on spiritually weak persons is similar to a selling out by abdicating responsibility for their actions."
While I do remember that day vividly, I guess I was not old enough at the time to go back and look at the facts. I just took for granted that everything that the WT organization said was the truth. So I must of been one of those week ones, and I fell for their blame game.
Joelbear, Hello good to meet you. I want to tell you that I enjoy your posts and your outlook on life and doing good toward others. Your posts as well as others is my reason for comming here. I remember hitting that rebelious stage about 2 years later.
Abaddon, good to meet you. Yes there have been rapid changes in my life in the past six months. It's funny how the people that you thought were such good friends can quickly write you off after missing a few meetings. I have not been to a meeting in 3 months and not one single brother/sister/elder/ms has called or emailed or stopped by to see why I am not there. I am glad this place exists for those who are going though these changes in life and knowing others have been through this. Thanks again.
to be successful in marketing one must know how to reach their target audience.. to this reader, this marketing technique comes through very clear in the september 22, 2001 awake magazine, where on the front cover is a picture of a woman working in the rice fields, with a great look of despair on her face.
the caption: can we grow enough food?.
the first three articles in this issue of the awake can certainly strike fear into the reader with bold print subheadings, thought provoking questions and quotations from experts on this problem.

To this reader, this marketing technique comes through very clear in the September 22, 2001 Awake magazine, where on the front cover is a picture of a woman working in the rice fields, with a great look of despair on her face. The caption: “Can We Grow Enough Food?”
The first three articles in this issue of the Awake can certainly strike fear into the reader with bold print subheadings, thought provoking questions and quotations from experts on this problem. Here are a few quotes from this issue:
“Without food crops mankind would starve. Science has done much to enhance this vital resource. But has it done more harm than good?” p2
“Is Man destroying his own food Supply?” p3
“Could we be, in effect, sawing off the very branch that supports us?”p3
“In effect, the green revolution may have provided short-term gains at the cost of long-term risks.”p5
“the ecological risks we take in adopting genetic uniformity are enormous.”p5
“Seed Banks-Insurance against extinction?”p6
“THE FARMER An ‘endangered species’?”p7
“A farmer in Australia or Europe may be able to borrow from a bank to tide him over a bad year; a West African farmer may not be able to try again. He might not even survive.”p7
Woes at the bank (subheading p8)
“Who Will Feed the World?”p9
“Can science and Technology Save Us?”
I do not want to downplay the seriousness of this global problem, however it seemed obvious to this reader the WTS marketing department is playing on the fear of many in third world countries. After all this is where the growth is coming from.
After 10 pages of doom and gloom we then get the sales pitch in the last two paragraphs of these three articles. As a JW who has all of the answers to these problems.
The last sentence in this series of articles states:
““Thanks to this sure hope – and God’s fatherly care of his people-we can, even now, “reside in security and be undisturbed from dread of calamity.” Proverbs 1:33.” P11
I could not help but wonder if the thousands of young children and babies who have starved to death over the past 26 years when this system was supposed to have ended would agree with that statement.
Then came the “food at the proper time” (no pun intended)
The title of the very next article on page 12:
“How can I stop worrying so much?” Boy did I ever need that, as I was beginning to worry where my next meal would come from.
I believe that we will see more and more articles from these marketing wizards targeted toward the third world countries as this is where the growth in the organization is taking place.

Storm clouds began to roll in. The wind kicked up and the temperature dropped quickly. As I stood waiting to pump gas for the next customer, I wondered, would there be another customer. Why would a 14 year old boy wonder such a thing? Because I knew that Armageddon was here.
That day I witnessed the biggest thunderstorm that I have ever seen in my life, or at least that is the memory that I was left with. The sky turned a dark greenish/gray color, there was heavy rain, high winds and golf ball sized hail.
I knew that this was it, ARMAGEDDON had arrived. I prayed to Jehovah to spare me even though I felt that I had nothing special to offer him or his kingdom. I prayed for forgivness for everything that I had done that was wrong.
As the storm cleared as quickly as it arived and the sun came back out, I witnessed the biggest, brightest rainbow that I have ever seen in my life. That day ended just like the day before, Armageddon did not come as I had thought it would. Ah, it was just a severe local thunderstorm.
Of all of the days of that particular year, I can remember none that left such a lasting impression on my memory as that one single day. What was it about that day?
That day was 26 years ago today, September, 5 1975. The very day and year that the WTS predicted that the end of this system would come.
I find the strangest part of this story is that until a few months ago, I would have defended the WTS in telling others that the end was never predicted by the WTS for that year. In hindsight, I now realize that if that had not been true, this one day 26 years ago today would not have left such a lasting empression on my memory.
It was 26 years ago, yet I remember it just like it was yesterday. Today, my youngest child is 14 years old.
Did any events of that day or year leave similar impression or memories for any other posters?

all prophets: here is your chance to go on the record and tell us all what you think this special, jw-only meeting in sept is going to be about.
then, after the fact, when we know what it was about, you will get all the glory due a true prophet.
all those who were wrong, well, you will taunted and laughed at by the other prophets.
I predict that they will be holding a lottery (in the spiritual sense) to see who will be getting the best homes in each town after the big "A" comes in OCTOBER.
You Know should get first picks though, since he was the one who uttered the October prophocey first (and the most times).

Yes, I suppose your right about that, maybe she is living proof that they were right all along.
Maybe thats why the GB members live so long.

There is an older sister in my fleshly sisters congregation who is in her 90s and professes to be of the anointed for many years.
Once when I was at a pot luck gathering during a visit, someone had mentioned that this 90 year old sister would not eat any food that was cooked in aluminum.
I thought that she had a medical condition and was just allergic to Aluminum. Now I know the truh why she would not do so.
The next time I see her I am going to ask her why she can't eat from aluminum cookware and see what she says.
I guess some of the anointed are the last to get the "new light".
