since i am still an active jw, or at least appearing to be, i still have my tubules in place and i am quite capable of assimilating a human.

the question is, should i?.

since i have to remain in this org.

I put my 2¢ in yesterday about the new fella you were asked to study with.....

Today tho , since it has been pricking my brain since then..... I have to ask you

DIRECTLY about these comments.....:

is this to benefit anyone in particular ? a short time ago a younger person with family asked for help in regard to what he should do and how he should do it. From the premise of the question , it appears you are older and in a different circumstance. If I am wrong I apologise.

So why not worry about yourself? and YOUR family and getting them out rather than even consider another obligation to MAKE OTHERS happy.....

I cant say how this feels for you...only you can.... but isnt this torture and a waste of time and your energy. Keep up a front?
for whom? for who's benefit.......
not for your own..............is your opinion of what is right not as important as your families..

is your freedom of speech , & religion guaranteed by the constution, fought for by the society......... not yours and yours alone........

if you are concerned with reaction of others.....
thats their piece of the pie...

would not spending time ....in this area be more healthy than "waiting " for some to see..........
if they never see...will you never leave.......

BX...you can rip into me go ahead... its no biggy......
I just would like to hear you say others are more important than you are........

Psychology of prayer

it seems there has been much talk on prayer lately, and i thought it would be helpful for us to discuss the psychological nuts and bolts, without getting into the realm of religious belief.

regardless of whether the source of change is human or divine mind, i think we can agree that the mind is a powerful thing, capable of affecting real change.. my guess is most of us don't pray for money or material things, but those of us who do basically ask for two things: direction and strength, or you might say knowledge and power.

i recall that as jws, we were taught to be specific in our prayers.

Egocentric support?

i thought this would be a good topic as many who are still sorting through the jw experience do not seem to see that their newly adopted worldview is just that, their own.

while i can understand how some would want to just "vent", i fail to see how such behavior helps anyone.

we all know that as jws we went along with what others told us to believe, yet it seems to me that beneath many posts of self expression, there's a subtle tendancy to be pushy, even preachy.

Intro,

Some here I feel are at times preachy, self included.......its not always intentional, some are real passionate about what has happened to them , and while the information they present may be real opinionated...I am not sure if its about making them feel better as it is an attempt to share there demise with others, to help the seeker .......

Many have not had the benefit of outside reading of mystical authors or even independent thinkers, and coming from the WTBTS.... there is along road to get to independent thinking.

Its all part of the tapestry.... yours , mine, our neighbors.....its hoped we learn... from the" intention" of the message even if the words may not be always perfect......

i have read the various posts here an i have my own story to tell i amstill a witness not as active as i used to be but stillfaithful i think the main problem that jws have is that they put c.o's m.s's elders and the like on pedestals and when you do that you set yourself up for a letdown and when that person does something you dont think is right you are letdown but one should not let this block his/her relationship with jehovah.

Governing Body Exit Doors

consider the exit doors for the governing body.. we know that there was no authoritative governing body before 1976, so i will limit the scope of this thought to the time since then.

how do members leave the governing body?.

exit door number one: death; taken by most.. exit door number two: disgrace; taken by a couple.. exit door number three: triumph; taken by raymond franz.. has it ever been the case where a governing body member has left because of senility?

I wondered since Swingle was the head money man up till 2 years ago...if maybe he got a accelerated ride to heaven.........he held the postion for over 30 years.......

since there are all these NEW corps and the GB has nothing to do with them.."officiallY".....what happens if the old fellas dont agree with the new fellas,..........and threaten to open there traps. what do they have to live for?
