  on the subject of prayer: this is addressed to the more atheistic or agnostic ones amongst us.. now, all those years i prayed really hard when times were tough, and then things worked out.

  i now believe it was my own hard work that gave the solutions.

  prayer was helpful in that i felt i had help.

  i am writing this to inform the people of chilliwack of a plague that seems to affect well-groomed, articulate individuals living in our fair city.. many months ago we posted a sign on our front door that says "no soliciting' due to the fact that the sanctity of our home was constantly being invaded by individuals seeking to save us, sell us something or wanting money or some kind of donation.

  Question:
  Recently my 20 years old son has been diagnosed with a mental illness. Bipolar/Personality disorders. In my heart I feel a lot of this is emotional
  and desperately need your advice I would fly him to you. The world
  can be very cruel and he is trying not to withdrawal... totally...please
  help us. Doctors think I am in denial but my son’s soul and mine our
  connected and I feel his pain. Please help...we live in Upstate New
  York...near Buffalo. I would bring him to you. He has a special purpose her and I don't believe it is to live in an institution...

  Answer
  Without having a good clinical history of your son, I am not able to give you specific answers but I can give you some comforting information.
  You say your son was diagnosed with a “bipolar personality disorder”. Clarify that with your doctor because that is not an existing diagnosis. It could be Bipolar Affective Disorder but not what you mentioned. If it is a bipolar affective disorder, he does not have to be institutionalized for that illness. There are mood-stabilizing medications and psychotherapy that can help maintain affect within normal limits. For example, the comedian Jonathan Winters is bipolar and has been very successfully in his career with professional help. Mood stabilizers like Lithium and others are not addictive and work as mood regulators.
  Be careful not to over-react to your son’s condition because it will stress him more than help him.
  How long has your son had problems with mood fluctuations? Does he use alcohol or drugs? Does he use excessive sugar in his diet? Does he go from periods of excessive energy with little sleep, racing thoughts, impaired judgment lasting for days or weeks, followed by periods of low energy, depressed mood, over-sleeping and hopelessness? Is there a history of bipolar illness in the family? Has he suffered significant childhood trauma?
  These are questions that you can ask and then get back with us if you wish.

  since there is a lot of emotion expressed on this discussion forum, i wanted to present a conceptual framework that might be useful.

  elizabeth kiebler-ross studied the emotional state of those facing a terminal illness.

  she concluded that those suffering this fate went through five stages: 1. denial (this can't true; i want a second opinion,etc.),.

  Take it a step at atime....get YOURSELF strong b4 you conquer the world of the JWS........

  your perspective cahnges when you feel strong and good about yourself......you tend to care more for your own beliefs and are not as interestred in choices others make to judge you. In the end they are just like you ...no different, its there apparent estteemed postion and so called authority that gives them this myth of power.

  ask any one of them if they believe in freedom of religion......as shown on the back of the May15 WT....then ask them is there one true religion...........cant have both....... it is that simple...they can run around all day with it and it wont change the facts that they fight for a freedom they dont provide......

  I can appreciate your position,but it does fly in the face of history

  many things defy logic.........like the ones I mentioned already

  I see the earth spinning pretty damn unreasonable..........but I have little choice but to believe in it.

  I wish I could fly like a bird,but damn I cant..but planes can.......

  Babys being born, from two people getting it on.......quite illogical, but quite possible........

  I dont know why Martin Luther King , thought it would be good to defy the white rules.since it defied the current logic....but he did

  I am so glad, Wozniack,Jobs & Gates, ignored the logical perspective ...or I couldn't respond to you........

  I 'll keep on looking down this illogical street I'm on... and if I see the sun not come up... I 'll admit... I was wrong.

  at a sporting event , if parking is charged for, tax is included ......ask for a receipt.....

  if the JWS have been doing this all along..they would be

  breakin D LAW...since they dont pay no stinkin taxes.......
