Circuit Overseers and Corruption

i am new to this site and have read with keen interest the many and varied topics that have been posted.
during my 9 years of presiding i encountered certain corrupt c/os for example the friends would treat them like little demy gods, hanging onto their every word, they would, on their visit influence the brothers to part with cash for privledges.

for every one child he gets caught molesting, there's probably another fifteen more that never get reported.

The friends, the truth and loaded language
by detective inas many people already know, using the term "the truth" to describe an organization's teachings is a brilliant way to constantly reaffirm it's validity subconsciously.
it's a great use of repetition to establish as fact that which is only opinion.. i keep hearing the phrase "the friends".
aside from the fact that i really don't like the terminology, i couldn't help but wonder if this isn't just another use of repetition and loaded language to enforce the belief that all of the people who share the same religion actually are your friends.. in some ways, i think it would be beneficial for some folks to drop "the truth" and "the friends" from their vocabulary so that they aren't continuing to immerse themselves in group-lingo that's intended to elicit certain emotional responses and associations.. what other loaded language can you come up with that is quasi-specific to jehovah's witnesses?

by TheMatrix inyesterday, the presiding overseer (elder h) read the letter from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses (us branch) regarding their policy on child abuse.
all scriptures were also looked up and read.. elder h is a very prepared brother.
he is a gilead graduate and served as a missionary for about 7 years in kenya before coming home because of illness.

All I was trying to say is that under no circumstances will the GB ban field service for anyone that's in "good standing". So mandating an escort is SOMETHING. Don't think for one second that I personally think this is okay. But what else can you honestly expect from them?

Just because THEY SAY they aren't molesting kids means nothing. I don't know what I expect the society to do, once a child molester is out of jail I suppose the only thing they can do is allow them to go in service w/ an escort. FS afterall is a nessasary part of being a JW. I just hate so many things about JWs. . .

I would like to respond to a comment you made:

I think even in society at large we still believe in the concept of rehabilitation and forgiveness, do we not??"I am in college and I am obtaining my degree in Criminal Justice. I personally believe that child molesters are not rehabilitatable for the most part. They have the highest recidivism rate of any other criminal. When a molester is put in jail, 1/3 are back in for the same offense. As for the other 2/3's many are still abusing kids and just aren't getting caught. Child abuse is also the most undereported crime.

It's irresistable to them. Also, if they move away to another hall there should be an announcement. If a person abuses a child, they have ruined a life. Who cares how sorry they are? They should have to pay for the rest of their lives just like their victims.

Nice. . . so as long as they go to counseling and say they are sorry and that they only molested ONE child that they can continue their role. Who would admit to more than one?
