I'd trust them with money but not a secret; biggest gossips I've ever met.
Minimus, I always love your questions!
one thing that the witnesses promote is how they are different from the rest of the world.
in your personal experience , did you find that you could trust a witness more than you could a non-jw?
I'd trust them with money but not a secret; biggest gossips I've ever met.
Minimus, I always love your questions!
you all said i could ask anything i wanted to so here goes.
i know you all are hurting really bad and i wish from the bottom of my heart i could do something.
my question is....if you know the borg is wrong and the wtbts is wrong then.........why do you still read and believe some of the stuff they write.???
I care actually.
i haven't snooped around on kent's site for a while, but it's always a pleasure when i do.
there are so many treasures over there.. i hadn't seen this one before, but it's one of the funniest songs/animations i've ever seen.
you'll love the ending, too!.
That was great! I watched it twice. . . HAHAHAHA!
i am a brand new poster, and i must admit i have a heap of concerns.... first let me start by saying that i am female, 27, and divorced.
(my ex was the definition of loser in the dictionary---totally was not willing to be a provider, loved the tv and his mom more than me.).
as i was going through my divorce, i was confiding in a friend at work about all that i was going through...he was also going through a divorce.
First of all welcome to the board.
Honestly if he is an inactive Witness the religion issue should'nt be a big deal. But how does he feel about holidays? Would he allow your child to have a blood tranfusion to save their life?
I just have one comment more. . and I've always wondered this. . if he cheated with a married woman, how can YOU trust him? Obviously marriage wasn't enough to stop him from sleeping with this woman.

jehovah's witness wins in french transfusion case .
lille, france sept 4 (reuters) - a french court ruled on wednesday that doctors acted illegally in giving a blood transfusion to a member of the jehovah's witnesses group against her will.
ISP, I agree that they should not have forced the blood transfusion, but I still think deep down inside she's thankful.

Jehovah's Witness wins in French transfusion case |
LILLE, France Sept 4 (Reuters) - A French court ruled on Wednesday that doctors acted illegally in giving a blood transfusion to a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses group against her will. Doctors at a maternity clinic in the northern town of Valenciennes carried out the transfusion when the 24-year-old woman haemorrhaged after she have birth there last month. The court in nearby Lille ruled they had broken a law dating from March this year requiring doctors to take into account the wishes of the patient in their treatment. In its judgement, it said the transfusion was a "serious attack on individual liberty" of the woman, who launched her complaint after recovering. Jehovah's Witnesses, a Christian group formed in the United States in the 19th Century, attach a sacred role to blood and demand alternative treatment to transfusions. Managers at the clinic said they would appeal the ruling, adding they considered the transfusion had been justified to save the woman's life. The case could go to the French Council of State, the highest court to which the legal affairs of state are referred. The Council has previously rejected complaints by Jehovah's Witnesses that they received transfusions against their will -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You know deep down inside she was happy they saved her life. . . geez! |

i just go off the phone with a reporter from the dallas morning news(paper).
she is a reporter for the religion section of the paper and she was interested and disgusted with what i told her--about the 2 witness policy.
Congrats Jesika, how exciting!!!

Capbuster-
You really wanna answer all my bible questions? I just don't think that's possible. But if you think you can, email would be better, not here.
Try these on for size:
Where did God come from? Are there others equal to him? Can he self-destruct and if yes what happens then?

I'm not angry at God. If there is a God, it's not him I'm angry at.
You said:
I hope you don't believe we came from a bug or an ape, because you have been reading the wrong material.
Well, I've read the entire Bible several times and it has too many discrepecies to lay out here. On the other hand, I've read Biology books and Anthroplogy books that answer my questions better. Maybe "God" used evolution to create things. How else can you explain the various fossil remains being millions of years old?
BTW if I sound antagonistic I don't mean to be.
Nevertheless, I do appreciate your politeness and please feel free to ask question.

i've had a hard time finding a place just to chat with jw's.
i'm not baptized...only studying.
yet, i know this is truth and jehovah is the true god.
Larry, when I came to this site I too wanted to discuss things with Witnesses. To my surprise, I found out that the Witnesses actually kept things from me. But don't take our word for it. Just make sure you ask lots of questions before you get baptised.
