Vacation Ideas
by StinkyPantz injon and i need a vacation.
we got married in vegas and that was the last time we got away from everything and had fun (3 1/2 years ago).
we live in orlando, so i suppose at any time we could do vacationy things, but i'm thinking i want to do something or go somewhere out-of-state or at least out-of-city.

Beatles or Rolling Stones Fan, which were/are you?
by eyeslice inperhaps you have to be one of those who grew up in the 60's to really appreciate this thread, but then my kids love 60's music too.
who did you think were the best, the beatles or the rolling stones?
is there a bit of a psychological angle here too?

I've been thinking New Orleans would be fun, but I've been there. Jon hasn't. Although I've always wanted to be there during Mardi Gras, I hear that the streets are so packed that it's no fun.
What do we like to do on vacation? Gambling, shows (magic, comedy, dinner), museums. We're not big into going to the beach, so that's out. I also like to see famous places/sites/architecture, etc.
For everyone that's listed some places. Any specific things to do there?
Oh and as for the time of year, I'm thinking this summer.

So, where are good vacation spots for adults?

Did God talk to you too?
by Caveat inno im not crazy now... but maybe i was back then.
did you ever prayed for guidance and opened your bible in a passage that seem to show you the way?.
did you get a innocent comment from an old sister at the hall that seemed at the time like advice from the almighty?.

Do belief and logic have to be enemies?
by new light inafter much, much soul searching this past weekend i was once again confronted with the possibility of what can be called the divine.
it was not exactly a pleasant experience, as i have been denying, even ridiculing the idea of god basically since exiting the jws (guess i was more traumatized than i thought).
during this last year i have been convinced that i must have been crazy for believing in god.

Stinky: By "Divine", I mean the higher calling that exists in each of us, our "conscience". I am not saying whether it was implanted by a Creator or not, just that it exists and does exert a force when listened to.
If "conscience" is all you mean by "Divine" then I don't understand the struggle you have. Conscience, to me, is an instinctual survival adaptation. Our conscience tends to tell us to do things that are in our physical or mental self-interest. Why wouldn't you believe in such a thing?
Edited to add that I haven't read this whole thread, only the initial post and your specific response to me. I guess I should go back and read all responses..
