What do you believe about the bible?
by bethelyellowdollarbag ini'm interested in how we all view the bible?.
let me start by offering three different options:.
a.. a book that at best may have cultural or historical interest but that is it.. b.. a divinely inspired guide that i consult to make important life choices.

We should not presume that just because they ancient, they are fools. It may well be that they possess more wisdom than our arrogant selves think.

for me, they contain moral codes as guide for my life and how i should strive to live my life if i have the ability to live it perfectly. as i am not perfect, i should strive to do them anyway. these moral codes are sprinkled throughout the bible, although not all that is written there is right, but some serve as really profound lessons and guides.

RC Church - Originated when ? Spiritually Strong Ones please.
by *lost* inbeen doing a bit of research trying to tie in together a few different strands.. not too sure what happened to christianity and how organised religion took hold again after the apostles died off.. i know jerusalem was sacked 70 ce.
but lots to fill in from that point onwards to bring us to where we are today.. if a few peeps could help to condense and simplify the info down into a few bite size pieces it would give us a starting point to begin to re-educate ourselves to the truth.
and fill in the blanks.

Are you going to heaven?
by compound complex ingreetings:are you convinced (with all due humility, of course) of your future destination according to religious beliefs?
perhaps you'd simply like to journey through outer space, but return eventually to our beautiful planet, earth .

I imagine either heaven or paradise, either way somewhere better, it's only a blink of an eye, even if in reality a long time has elapsed. If death is the just a "long form" of sleeping, then time will fast forward, and we wake up in the last day, we'll know then. Or maybe there is actually a soul that goes on after death, as believed by countless generations before us, and we'll see angels and Christ himself, again in an instant.
All conjectures. No living knows, and the dead can't come back to tell us. (There are near-death experiences though) And it's not important at the moment. What's important is what we do and how we obey, if we profess ourselves as Christians.

He Is Risen, the axial component of christianity
by designs insunday hundreds of millions and possibly up to two billion people will join in some service in observance of the resurrection of jesus.
it is the central issue which takes the teachings of jesus from the philosophy of doing good to others to the ultimate truth which it claims.
it was the axial argument of the apostle paul in 1 cor.

yeah designs, but after that, he went blind because of that light for three days, then he saw a vision of Ananias coming to baptize him, another disciple of that sect. And indeed the vision came true, Ananias came and baptized him and became a brother. only then that his sight returned to him. Now here are proofs coming from two different person. One was the visions of Paul, the other is the instruction of the Spirit coming to Ananias. (With Ananias risking his neck for this man). But then again, we can always discount these as fabricated stories if we really don't want to believe it. Other than the new testament texts, the only proofs we have of the historicity of Paul is in the writing of the apostolic fathers.
