Here in the States the WT is self insured, I think that beyond a certain amount there is re insurance with an established company in case of a catastrophic loss.
In the cases where I have seen claims handled by the WT, it is the worse experience that a person could have, they practically make impossible to collect anything from them and in the end people get tired and quit or just settle for an minimal amount.

many of us here and around the net, calling on our dub experiences cried "never would that happen!
oh this is just worth sharing!.
so , as many know, it has been two years since i have attended any meetings, conventions, etc....nothing...cold turkey.. the hassles and problems the elders threw our way were monumental....so many details i could share, but suffice it to say, we stood firm and kept our dignity and poise and reminded them of "appropriate boundaries ".
one elder in particular has since spared no effort in ensuring that malicious gossip and slander has been spread so that witnesses have avoided us like the plague!.

i am going to engage on a trip to the past and share with you some of the matters that marked the beginning of the jws persecution in cuba.
you will be surprised that the pattern that was followed is very similar to what happened in other dictatorial countries.. in the cuban case, i am going to surprise you and tell you that like what happened with hitler; the wt was partially responsible for their clash and confrontation with the cuban government.
during the early 60s the revolution was fighting for survival and they were willing and ready to demolish any perceived enemy to their cause.. a prime example was their war against the catholic church that was the most influential religious entity in the country; it took the supreme leader only a few public discourses to send the vast majority of clergy packing and back to their country, in this case spain.. the jehovah’s witnesses were an insignificant minority but they over estimated their importance and displayed a belligerent attitude, it was known that this was a us based religion and an easy target to connect them with the cia.
With all the bunker mentality and the gloom and doom predicted by the WT it is good to remember the Cuban debacle in that field.
As I mentioned before, the WT attitude towards the Castro Government was antagonistic from the beginning. Something that was implemented and backfired big time was trying to use the communist literature against the officials.
There was a booklet from Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union called "About Religion" and it stated in some portions the need for religious tolerance and freedom. Some of the brothers quoted this source when talking to the police, the results were really, really bad.
Incidentally the Lenin booklet was written before his takeover, like Castro once that he was in power it was a different situation and behavior.
in my old congregation there are two brothers (non related) who are in the early 30s.
they've never dated girls.
they're "best friends".
I have never seen males brothers attached to each other and living together, on the other hand I have seen females living together and taking care of each for years; sometimes lifetime. Outsiders always figure it out that there was something going on but decided to let them mind their life, none of the cases that I know exploded into a full blown scandal.

The two Assembly Halls at Liemert Park and Woodland Hills pre dated the WT takeover of these properties, both were negotiated, refurbished and administrated by local brothers. The WT provided financing that was repaid at the usual WT rate for that time. Both places were a money making operation, specially during the Cafeteria times and they supported a full time caretaker. When the time came for a sale the WT scooped the proceeds faster than a speeding bullet and it was presented to the friends the need for $$$$$ for any new project.

the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

It looks like this program will be implemented step by step in different areas, some friends in other parts of the City are not aware of these changes.

Norco was already there when Woodland Hills was sold, it was expanded and remodeled. Santa Clarita was supposed to be the replacement for WH but they ended building at Mira Loma, about 15 miles from Norco.
The brothers lost a lot with the sale of Leimert Park and Woodland Hills and there was a lot of chicanery in the process.
