i saw this article and what i found intriguing was the brief mention of moon-based helium 3 as a source for energy.
is this different from helium found on the earth?
has anyone heard or read a discussion on this?
Xander, I didn't mean to ignore YOUR post! Gawd!!! Hop up and down and wave your arms will ya?!! I'm not opposed to technology and space exploration, per se...............I just want to see it done for the right reasons, and greed is not the right reason. Sorry, Bush is a big A--hole and I don't trust anything he is involved in. THAT is my concern, bottom line.

We had some real loons in our KH. However, I think the one that fits your description most was this creepy guy that was dismissed from his job for sexually assaulting a coworker. Also, he eventually married, and ended up losing it. He attacked his wife, tied her up and raped her, among other things. I only know a tiny bit because it was kept pretty hush hush in the cong. I wasn't part of the in crowd who gathered around the wife and stayed with her till she got better.........the husband did time in prison from what I remember. All I know is the first time I met him, I thought he was very strange..........he just made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.

yeah, it's -34 degrees celcius, windchill is in the -50s (i guess their scale doesn't go any lower) and the boss came by to ask me to shovel snow.
various schools have been closed, apparently it's colder here than many places up north, and here i am, an electronics technician who just finished a college course which half was paid by the company, and i'm shoveling snow.
the measley 24 cent raise i got this year isn't worth it.
Strawberry! You're a bus driver???????? I work for the Board of Ed., in Transportation! I talk with our bus drivers all the time! We even have a CB radio in the office to keep in touch with the drivers, ya know worried parents, lost children, etc.................Our Superintendent is a close neighbor of yours............she's from Kinosha, WI. She has absolutely NO pity for snow and cold. Last year we had parents calling and screaming about her not cancelling school when the whole state did! LOL! This year it's been better............she cancelled school today, and a week ago when we had subzero weather. The kids down here are not used to this kind of cold.

Thank you for the apology, Abaddon. I think that I was just stinging, still from what Gita said. He was pretty in my face snotty. Actually, I do think for myself. Four years ago, I left a marriage, and the Borg at the same time. My mom and sister, my only close family, are still in the Borg. I have supported myself and my two cats all by myself all this time. That takes a pretty sensible, straight thinking person I think. Another point I would like to make about this moon thing is something that was brought up in another thread by Shotgun, who posted some quotes from different sources, that I also had in mind, even tho I didn't use it in this thread: we are willing to spend billions on this stuff, going to the moon, Mars, etc., and yet, here we have rampant hunger and unemployment here on Earth, and other issues that this money could be spent on. We need to take care of our homeless, our hungry, and educate our children before we go off chasing the moon and Mars. Priorities are a little askew don't you think? I'm wondering if Bush is just using this moon/Mars thing as something to divert attention from the whole Iraqi thing????????
billions of dollars are being spent to determine if life ever existed on mars, while life on various parts of the earth fades away at an alarming rate.
it always annoys me how much taxpayer money is used on crazy or useless things while at the same time many organizations try to sqeeze the average joe for more money just to help the poor and the homeless.
taxpayer money at work
Shotgun, I know exactly what you are saying! I was discussing, in another thread, my very strong feelings of going to the moon and raping it's resources, and also Mars. I was trying to highlight the greed and destructiveness of these big companies, and yes, Bush, in encouraging this type of behavior, but I didn't bring it out like you did. I hope some of the other posters that got on my case come over here and read your thread!

my wife asked me that question yesterday and i really didn't know how to answer that.
for quite a while i knew this religion was getting more bogus by the minute but i'm not sure what defined "it" for me.
do you remember what got you to know that this was simply not the "truth"?
Min, for me, it wasn't one moment or one thing..........it started way back when I was first learning, my gut told me then it was bogus. One of the next major moments of added doubt was when I met this cool lady from door to door.........she was a REAL bible scholar and planted a few interesting questions in my mind that really almost got me out then..............then, when they changed the whole "generational" thing, I was seriously disillusioned. Finally, just a few months before I quit going, I had an altercation with a "sister" that just made me question the whole arrangement and the goofy people involved..............
Terri
Thi,
a majority of the public approves of the job Bush is doing as president
whoever said the "majority" are right?

Instead of this, people panic and run around like headless chickens. Just because we were spoon-fed at the meetings doesn't mean we can be spoon fed now. Take responsibility, and don't make it someone elses fault if you don't know something you could have found out easily.
???? I seem to have missed something here.................who was I making at fault, and for what?? I happen to have a deeply spiritual view that it is wrong to misuse and abuse what nature has provided for us. And, for that matter, I did admit and apologize to Big Tex for my emotional response and hijacking his thread And, I'm still puzzled at your reason/need to chastise me?????

Nos!!! {{{{{{warm hug}}}}} Just to let you know you are not alone in your suffering.........I have no heat in my car and I've been driving to and from work in single digit cold...............I've had enough of this CRAP!!!
