Dallas area: I'm looking for a full-time receptionist . . .
by cruzanheart infor my law firm.
we have 6 offices in texas, and we're a mid-size firm overall, but the dallas office is small (less than 20 people).
in addition to answering the phone (and that means saying the whole firm name, which is a long one), the candidate should be able to type at least 40 wpm and know word and excel.

DANG!!! Nina...........I wish I lived down there............I have all of those skills PLUS, and I worked for a temp agency as their receptionist and was the Admin. Asst....in fact, before they hired me, I was sent on a temp assignment to a mid sized manufacturing complex and went in expecting a normal phone with 4 lines.......they had a whole computerized system with voice mail, paging, and other features........after 3 days I was told they wanted to hire me. I love being a receptionist, you meet the neatest people.

Former sisters, remember the pant suit controversy in the seventies?
by Sunnygal41 ini was in my late 'teens, working for my own money, and polyester pant suits were all the rage in fashion.
working at mc'donald's, i was able to afford two nice matching suits, with the jacket and vest, and a matching shirt...........these i wore to meetings, when i went.
then, the jw grapevine went into action, regarding the suitablity for a sister to be wearing pants at a meeting.

LMAO @ Amy's comments!! I almost spit my coffee onto my computer screen with the picture of a bunch of crotchety wizened old geezers standing lined up modeling the latest pantyhose shades and textures!! LOL! I would LOVE to see how fishnet would look on some of them bony old legs! LOL! Same goes for that 666 comment, Rub!! LOL!!!

Should you try and call an old dub friend? What if you did?
by gumby inok, sunnygal inspired this one.. today i wondered what would happen if i called an old dub friend.
he's an elder.
i met him in jr. high as he was in my metalshop class and i mentioned i was a witness.

Terri, great story. At least you found your friend still cared for you and felt for you.....but she had to "obey Jehovah". Perhaps you also planted some doubts in her former idea that you may have become a monster since leaving...and she found out you were the same person.
Gumbers, I am and am not the same person. I have alot more self worth now than I ever did as a witness, for one. I am more of an educated and well rounded person, for two. The parts of me that have not changed are those that come from a loving heart...........that will never change. This has helped me alot, since I did this, I've gotten a tremendous surge of energy to tackle other situations in my life that have been on hold, so to speak. I would say call your friends, hon, you are strong enough, emotionally, and you will definitely benefit from it.
Hugs,
Terri

sorry I didn't get back to this thread sooner..............some cool answers..........funny.......I was a rebellious teenager anyways, 17 and not even getting to meetings more than a couple times a month..........then, I brought a "worldly" boy to the meetings..........ended up coming into the truth and I married him and he is an elder to this day.............lol.........I found out years later that there was SCANDALOUS gossip about THAT in our KH!! LOL!
